Minion Card from Kids Card Class

IMG_1262

Who doesn't loves the Minions!!!! They are so cute!  Banana!!!! hee hee!  When I was designing my cards for my Kids Card Class I knew I had to have a Minion card.  I was looking around on Pinterest for inspiration for the card and ended up picking a little something from multiple cards to come up with this one.  When my daycare kids saw this card they were so excited.  One of my little ones said "Joycie, you made my favorite card.  I love it!"  I knew it was going to be a hit.

To make this card I used basic black cardstock as the base measured at 5 1/2 x 11" scored at 4 1/4".  I used daffodil delight for the yellow on card, I love how bright it is.  I used the following products to make this card.

January 2016 Paper Pumpkin

Image

Do you like getting surprises? Every month? Do you like to create different projects?  Then,Paper Pumpkin is for you!!!! It is a great program available through Stampin' Up! in which you get a red box in the mail monthly with different projects to create.  They have been cards, banners, treat bags, frames, pinwheels and many more.  I have enjoyed getting the little red boxes in the mail each month, but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this one.  The kit this month is to make a banner and treat pockets for Valentine's Day.  I am really not that big on banners and wanted something different than treat bags.  So, what could I do with this kit?  Make cards, of course!

I sat down the other night and decided to let the creative juices flow and see what happens.  I have to say I really like how they came out.  You could change the sentiment to anything, but I wanted to use the stamps that came with the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I only added cardstock (pink pirouette, watermelon wonder and smokey slate) and used different punches to create them.  Check them out and let me know what you think.

The above picture is one of the treat bags that was made as the kit was designed to be made.

With this card I used the sweetheart punch and the heart punch from the itty bitty accents punch pack.

I think this framelit, Bloomin' Love, might be one of my favorites.  I love how delicate it looks on this card.  I also added rhinestones for a little bit of bling.

I used the sweetheart punch also on this card, but added the glimmer paper for a little big of bling.  Who doesn't like bling?

I like to add tags to cards and thought this was a great way to use the sequin trim and clothespin that came in the kit.  I used the scallop tag top punch to make the top of the tag.

In the Occasions Catalog there is a punch and stamp set called Grateful Bunch.  I was looking around for something else to put on my card and the punch was sitting on my desk (it had just come in the mail that day).  The best thing about this punch, well there is two things, first you can punch 3 flowers at the same time.  Second, it is available in a bundle (you get the stamp set and punch at a 15% discount) and who doesn't love a sale!!

I used the banners in this kit and added a glimmer heart with the itty bitty punch pack.

Bloomin' Love Banner Challenge Card

Image

Over the weekend I did a challenge by a fellow Demonstrator, Connie Stewart.  The challenge was to make a card with 2 banners on it.  I usually don't use banners, not sure why, so this was definitely a challenge for me.  This came at a perfect time for me as I was working on my cards for my Stamp Camps this week.  I really like how it turned out and the best part is you could use this card for birthdays, weddings, anniversary or Valentine's Day.  You can change the sentiment to anything you want.

To make the card I used products from the Occasions and Annual Catalog.  I used the stamp set And Many More  (23 stamps) #134276 for $27.00.  The measurements are:

Base: 5 1/2 x 11 score at 4 1/4

Blushing Bride embossed layer 5 1/2 x 4 1/4

Banners: 1 inch wide one is cut at 3 1/2 and the other is cut at 2 1/2 inches

I wanted to pop up the heart but didn't want the dimensionals to show from the front.   So, I put them behind the big flowers on the heart (there are 5 of them).  Now the heart has dimension and you can't see how you did it!

Here are the products I used to make this card:

First try at Watercoloring

IMG_1209

For my Open House last weekend I had made samples of products from the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This cute little chick is from the Sale-A-Bration selections.  He is so cute!!! I know I will be using him on a lot of different cards and projects.  This was my first try at watercoloring and oh my goodness, it was a lot of fun!  I think now I have a new love.  I can't wait to play more with watercoloring.  I found this cute little card on Pinterst made by Jo Blackman.  I loved it so much I made it just like she did.

The measurements to make this card are:

Base is So Saffron  11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2,   Mint Macaron 4 x 5 1/2, Blushing Bride 3 3/4 x 5 1/2, and Whisper White 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Welcome to my blog!

Welcome!  Today is the first day of my blog!  I am so excited to have a blog to share my love of paper crafting with Stampin' Up! products.  I will be sharing ideas for card making, scrapbooking, 3 D projects and a little  bit about myself.  I will be starting out with trying to post 2-3 times a week.  On Tuesdays I will post the weekly deals and then 1-2 times during the week with great projects to share with you.

Right now is an exciting time as it is SALE-A-BRATION!  What can get better than getting FREE products (from the Sale-A-Bration brochure)for every $50 (before tax and shipping) in product.  To celebrate this fun time I am having an Open House today to show ideas and products.  You will be seeing them on my blog in the upcoming days.

This is a learning time for me, so I am asking for patience as I learn how to do things on here.  I think this is also going to be a time where I will be laughing a lot at myself.

The card I picked for today goes with my theme of my blog, butterflies.  To me, they are beautiful and carefree, which is what I want my blog to be.  I want to make beautiful projects for you and to have the carefree spirit to try new things and learn new techniques and crafting ideas.  To make this card I used Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, Whisper White and Island Indigo cardstock, Soft Sky, Island Indigo and Bermuda Bay, Silver 1/8" ribbon, rhinestones, big shot, glue dots and snail adhesive.

Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog.

Happy Stamping!
