Sympathy Card

If you don't see a lot of post this week there is a good reason. We are trying to get together a moving/garage sale on Thursday and Friday.  We are moving Emily to Texas in July so we are cleaning out our house as if we are moving too.  You don't realize how much stuff you collect after 27 years of marriage, two kids and a daycare.  I am also selling some of my Stampin' Up! products so I can buy more out of the new catalog!  Yay!!

When I was designing this card I had my cousin, Marie, in mind as she had just lost her husband to cancer.  I wanted something to show I cared and also a card that was uplifting.  I think the combination of the Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum worked great together.  I used two of my go to stamp sets, Grateful Bunch and Rose Wonder.

You will need the following products to make this card.

Elegant Eggplant Card Stock #105126

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Perfect Plum Card Stock #101889

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" - this is for the inside

This time I only wrapped the whisper white ribbon around the white paper.  I stamped a verse and one of the flowers on the inside of the card and just a flower on the envelope.  Here is a picture of what the inside looks like.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!  Thank you for stopping in.

Happy Stampin!!!

Butterfly Basic Scrapbook Page

What great colors for spring time!!!  Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red!!  They are so bright and cheery!

This is one page of my two page layout from my first scrapbooking class.  The ladies really liked this one and want me to do more like this.  I can not wait to get the new Designer Series Paper from the new catalog!  It is going to be so much fun to create with it!

For this page I used the Rose Red paper for the background and added Whisper White and Daffodil Delight to break up the pages a little.   I used Old Olive card stock for you to mat your pictures.

The flowers are stamped in Rose Red from the Butterfly Basics stamp set #138816 (clear mount). The saying is from the Feel Goods stamp set, which is retiring at the end of the month, and it is stamped using the Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White card stock.

I tried to stamp the ferns in Old Olive ink to match the mats, but it ended up being a little too dark for me.  I decided to use the Pear Pizzazz ink instead as it is a little bit lighter and gave it a softer feel. With the ferns you only ink it once for each area.  You will stamp it once, fully inked, and then just keep stamping with out reinking it. So, for this page you are only going to ink it twice but stamp it 6 times.

The following are the measurements of the paper you will need to make this layout.  This includes the measurements for page 2 also.

Regals Collection of 12" x 12" card stock #131188 (you get 2 sheets of each coloring the collection)  I used Rose Red for both background pages.

Whisper White 12" x 12" Card Stock #124302

  • cut one at 2 1/2" x 3"
  • cut two at 5" x 12"
  • you will need scrap pieces to stamp 4 butterflies on

Brights Collection of 12" x 12" card stock #131186  I used Daffodil Delight

  • cut two at 3/4" x 12

Old Olive Card Stock #100702

  • cut one at 2 3/4 x 3 1/4
  • cut two at 4 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • cut four at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4"

You can get all the Old Olive pieces you need for this page out of  2 pieces of  8 1/2" x 11" card stock.  On the 8 1/2" side cut it in half at the 4 1/4" mark.  You are going to cut both of those pieces of paper on the 11" side at 6 1/4".  This will give you the two big pieces of paper needed for the matting of your pictures.  You will have two pieces measuring 4 1/4" x 4 3/4" left over which you will use one on this page in the left hand corner.  The other piece of Old Olive card stock you need to cut down to 2 3/4" x 3 1/4" for the right hand corner.

Here is a picture of the second page and then of them together.

I am really looking forward to teaching more classes on scrapbooking.  Do you have any favorite layouts that you go back to all the time?  I would love to see them!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Circle Scrapbook Pages

                     FullSizeRender 2-2

I had my first Scrapbooking Class on Wednesday night and I think it went very well.  All the ladies enjoyed the class and loved the pages I designed.   I call this page layout the circle page.  I had made a page like this long time ago and loved it, so I thought I would do one for this class.

For the 12 x 12 paper I purchased packs of the Regals Collection 12 x 12 pages #131188.  What is nice about the packs is that you get 2 sheets of each color in the collection.  We will be able to make 10 2 page layouts with one pack of paper!!! Yay!!! For this layout I used the Crushed Curry paper and then I cut the black pieces at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" for 4 x 6 photos.  You could definitely use any size you want to fit your pictures and the space you have.

For the circles I ended up using designer series paper, Wildflower Fields. from Sale-A-Bration which is now retired.  I didn't think about how much paper I would need when I have to prep for 7 people.  This was the only paper I had enough paper of each design I needed.  I now know better and can plan accordingly.   I used the 2 1/2", 1 3/8" and 1" circle punches for this page.  You could use whatever sizes you have, just make sure they are 3 different sizes.

I did not have any special design in mind, I just started laying them out.  I did not put adhesive on them at first, so that way I could move them around if I wanted to.  For my second page I literally made two of the first page and just flipped it.  Here are some pictures so you can see what I mean.

Here they are together and you can see how I flipped the page on the right to give it a little bit of a different look.  You can have them the same or you can turn them any way you want.   Let your creativity flow and see what you come up with.

I like how you can play with the circles and black pieces of paper  to come up with different designs.

I would love to see what you come up with!

Happy Stampin!

Bordering Blooms Thank You

I have an Easy Peasy card for you today.  If you have a lot of thank you notes to write, like graduates right now, this is the card for you!  It will take you 5 minutes to create this card!

I used the Another Thank You and Bordering Blooms stamp sets which are both retiring :(.  I hate losing my stamp sets, but I always know there will be new ones that I will love just as much!

You will need to cut your paper at the following measurements:

Rich Razzleberry Card Stock #115316

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock #110730

  • cut two at 4" x 5 1/4" - one for the inside and one for the outside

That is all the cutting you have to do too!!  With one piece of each color of paper you can make 2 cards!  Yay!

You will only use two colors too, Rich Razzleberry and Wild Wasabi.  I love those two colors together!  First you are going to stamp the green flowers on the top and bottom of your top piece of whisper white and only on the bottom of your inside piece.  Then you will stamp your little flowers with the Rich Razzleberry next.  The last thing you stamp is your Thank You and you are done!!

Now wasn't that easy?!  I told you you would love how easy this card is!  Here is a picture of the inside so you can see how I stamped it.  If you wanted to you could add rhinestones to all the little flowers on the front of the card.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping in today!

Bus Driver Gifts

Every year that one of my daycare kids is riding a bus, I also did this with my kids,  I always make gifts for them through out the year. Owen's last day of preschool is this Thursday and I wanted a little something to give the drivers and aids.  I went on to Pinterest, (who doesn't love Pinterest) for bus driver gifts.  I saw the phrase "Orange you glad it's summer".  Perfect!  Off to Target I go!!! Nobody really has to give me a reason to go to Target, but I could use this excuse!!

I went up and down the isles looking for anything orange and this is what I came up with.  I couldn't find the orange bags anywhere except Party City.  Which I thought was strange since our school colors are orange and black.  I knew right away which stamp set I was going to use, Apple of My Eye.  This set is retiring, but we have a wonderful fruit stamp set in the new catalog that you are going to love!

For the tag I typed up the saying on my computer, printed it out on Whisper White Card Stock #110730. I then trimmed it down to just under 2 inches to fit into the scalloped tag punch #133324.

To stamp the oranges I used Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz ink.  I thought they turned out quite cute if I say so myself.  LOL  Owen was very happy with them and that is all that mattered.

Do you do gifts for your kids bus drivers?  I only did it in elementary school, after that I think my girls would have been very upset with me.

Have a great day and enjoy this beautiful weather we are having in Ohio today!

Happy Stampin'

Giggle Greetings!

I had made this card a long time ago for a friend who had asked me to do a class for making get well cards.  Her friend was fighting cancer and everyone that came to the class was going to shower him with cards.  I had totally forgotten about this card until I was looking through some old pictures.  I thought this was perfect for my Stamp Camp.  This set, Giggle Greetings, is retiring at the end of the month. (I believe it is now as while supplies last).

To make this card you will need the following products:

Real Red Card Stock #102482

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Brights Designer Series Paper Stack #138434

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White Card Stock #110730

  • you will need a scrap to stamp the image and cut it out with the framelit

I stamped the image using the Basic Black Archival Ink and colored it in with the Cherry Cobbler marker.  The framelits I used were Lots of Labels.  This card is a very easy card that would be great for mass production!  For class I made my samples with one with the strips and the other with the flowers on the back of the strip paper.  I let me customers decide what they wanted to use.

I didn't stamp anything on the inside because you could use this for a get well card, for someone going through a hard time or what ever you choose.

This is a great card layout that you could you any designer series paper and saying, or flowers, or trees what ever stamp and paper you have on hand.  Let you imagination go wild!  If you create any cards like this I would love to see them, please share!

Thank you for stopping in and have a great day!

Happy Stampin!

Pansy Window Card

Connie Stewart, an awesome fellow demonstrator, does weekly challenges on her blog.  For her challenge on May 13th you had to use a window on your card.  I saw one that Penni Behr created and thought it would be great to make one for my Stamp Camp.  With Penni's permission I used her layout and came up with this card.

This month's Stamp Camp I tried to use almost all retiring stamps and Sassy Salutations is the one retiring on this card.  I used that set all the time.  I am really going to miss it too.  I am going to miss a lot of stamps :(.  Oh well, that just means I have to go shopping in the new catalog for new stamp sets.  It is for business after all.  LOL

I used the colors of Hello Honey and Mint Macaron, both are retiring, and the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge to do the background.  I used the pansy punch to make the window on the card.  I guessed as to where to put it, so you could put it anywhere on your card.  I thought it needed a punch of color and had the Botanical Gardens DSP laying on my desk.  As I was going through the designs I found this cajun craze design and tried it and I love how it looks!  Of course, you always have to have some bling on your card so I added rhinestones to the butterfly and flowers.

The materials you will need for this card are:

Hello Honey Card Stock #133678

  • cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Mint Macaron Card Stock #138337

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut one at 3 3/4" x 5" this is for the front
  • cut one at 4" x 5 1/4" this is for the inside

Scraps of any DSP, I used Botanical Garden, for the flowers and butterfly.  I used the Petite Petals Punch and the Elegant Butterfly punch to make them.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Stampin!

Open Sea Birthday Card

I went on Pinterest for some inspiration for a masculine card and look what I found!!!  Sara Hoogendoorn designed this card and I just changed it a little.  Thank you Sara for sharing with everyone.

I am going to miss The Open Sea stamp set, it was a great set to use for masculine cards.  I am sure I will find a new favorite in the new catalog! I really like how the smokey slate and lost lagoon colors go together.  I am not sure what took me 2 years to realize I like them together?

I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card, I had stamped an anchor on the left hand bottom corner and on the envelope.  The Happy Birthday Wishes is from the Petite Pairs stamp set.  Both stamp sets are retiring at the end of the month.

To make this card you will need the following:

Lost Lagoon Card Stock #133679 - this is retiring at the end of May 2016

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"
  • cut 2 of 2" x 4"
  • a scrap for the circle (I used the circle framelits #5 from the center)

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 1 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • scrap for the circle (I used the 2" circle punch)

I love the layout of this card and will definitely be using it again soon! Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Stampin!

Birthday Thank You

It was my birthday on May 1st and I was blessed with so many beautiful gifts.  I have always been taught to send thank you cards when you receive a gift or when someone impacts your life and I have taught my girls to do the same thing.  This is the card that I made for everyone who thought of me and helped make my day special.

I wanted a card that I could produce quickly as I was also going to be using them as my May thank you cards for my customers too.  The Grateful Bunch stamp set  has flowers and it comes with a matching punch, you can't get much better than that!  It was one of the first sets I bought from the Occasions Catalog.

You will need the following products to make this card:

Blackberry Bliss Card Stock #133675

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut two at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • scraps for stamping the flowers

The Blackberry Bliss paper is on the retirement list and is available while supplies last.

Wouldn't you love one of these cards mailed to you?  Just place an order on my website and use the hostess code!

Graduation Card and Gift Card Holder

It is graduation time and that means a lot of cards and gift card holders.  I made this card and holder for Emily's roommate, Nichole. Nichole is also very special to our family as she has been our neighbor for the last 17 years.

To make this card I made three triangles of different sizes for the front.  Here are the dimensions for the triangles:

  • the largest one (Tangelo Twist) is 3 7/16" across the bottom and 4 7/16" high.
  • the middle one (Early Espresso)  is 2 3/16" across the bottom and 2 13/16"high
  • the smallest one  (Tangelo Twist) is 1 13/16" across the bottom and 2 5/16" high

If you have the Bigz L Perfect Pennants die (this is retired) you can use it and you will get the same sizes.

To make the little cap I cut the Tangelo Twist into a 1 3/8" square and the Early Espresso is 1 1/4" square.  I used the paper piercing tool #126189 and the Stampin' Pierce Mat #126199.  I then put one of the Candy Dots Brad Bases #132293 and added a rhinestone to the top of it.  I also used rhinestones on the smallest triangle.   I made a male version of the card and used the mini brads #122491.  The picture below shoes both versions of the card.

I didn't have any bakers twine that color so I used embroidery thread instead.  You can use any saying you wish for the front.  I had the stamp set from Sale A Bration called Perfect Pairings and Congrats fit perfectly.

On Friday I had the directions on how to make the gift card holder. Click Here for the post.

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!
