Only 2 more days until the 2017 Holiday catalog is live!!! The above Quilted Christmas Suite is the first suite you will see in the new catalog and it is beautiful.  I have seen so many cards made with this set, and they are all stunning.  This is a perfect set for anyone who loves to quilt or sew, or wishes they knew how to.  Here is a video from Stampin' Up! that will show you how wonderful it is.

Now, don't you want this suite?  Isn't it beautiful?

Also, on Friday is my first project from my Fall Friday series.  I have been working on making a video for you for this project.  Early this morning I made the video, and afterwards I went to watch it to see how it turned out.  I am not sure what I did, but I cut half of my area off.  You can only see the top part of everything I was doing and a lot of my desk.  Needless to say, I will be reshooting that video tonight.  Oh my goodness.  That's ok, because I made a couple of mistakes, so hopefully I will get it right the second time.

Stocking Christmas Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Santa's Sleigh stamp set #142057, Christmas Stockings Thinlits #141841, Layering Ovals Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Cable Knit Embossing Folder #143537, Decorative Ribbon Border Punch #143721, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to StampinScrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

It is hard to believe that we are already working on Christmas projects and it is still August.  Every year I start my Christmas Card Classes in August, so they have 4 months to  work on their cards and have them all done in November.

When I created this card, I didn't have any of the products from the new catalog yet, so everything is in the annual catalog.  I love the challenge of taking certain stamp sets or accessories and having to create from that.  You have seen all of these products last year except for the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch that is new this year.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock #119685

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/5"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"  for oval
  • cut at 2" x 3 1/2" for the stocking
  • cut at 1/2" x 4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

 Gold Foil Sheets #132622

  • cut at 2" x 3 1/2"
  • cut at 3/4" x 4"

Do you see the top of the stocking where it has the little piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock?   This is how I cut it out so I wasn't wasting any paper.   I don't know about you, but I am all for saving paper whenever I can.

IMG_9972

For the background I used the Cable Knit 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.  With any of the 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders you need to spritz your paper with water first to get the whole effect of the folder.   With the Decorative Ribbon Border you can use either side and on this card I used the scalloped side.

I popped up the ovals with Stampin Dimensionals to give the card some dimension.

Four more days until ...

I have two projects all done and working on more!  I can't wait to share them with you!

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

Update on Emily:  She had a pretty good weekend, until Sunday afternoon.  Where she is in Houston the flooding really didn't start until then.  Thankfully she is on the second floor with her best friends, so that helps.  Where her school is located, that area is totally under water.  She has no idea what her classroom will look like once they get back in there.  The school is closed for right now until next Tuesday.  I am pretty sure it will be longer than that.  The pictures I have been seeing on TV are unbelievable and incredibly sad.  I can't even imagine what all of those people are feeling and trying to comprehend.  My heart is breaking for all of them.

Thank you for stopping by and have a magnificent Monday!

Coffee Cafe Card and Thank You Treat

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe stamp set #143677, Coffee Cafe Framelits #143745, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Do you have a friend who is a coffee, latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate, hot apple cider or any other hot drink?  This is the perfect stamp set for you!  We made this card at stamp camp this month and the little treat box was my thank you gift for the attendees.

To make the card you will need the following products:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock #140272

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Pear Pizzazz Cardstock #131201

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" - this is for the coffee cup
  • cut at 1" x 2 1/4" - this is for the lid

Soft Sky Cardstock #131203

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" - this is for the coffee cup
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" - this is for the heart

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1" x 2 1/4"

Coffee Break Designer Series Paper #144155

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 4"

When I adhered the two pieces of designer series paper onto the Pear Pizzazz cardstock, I put the top piece (the one with the dots) on first and then the brown piece.  They will overlap a little and that's ok. You will then put your ribbon on so that the top of the ribbon is even with the top of the brown piece of designer series paper.

The paper on the green cup is from the same designer series paper as the background and I used a framelit from the Coffee Cups framelit set.    I cut out the heart from Soft Sky cardstock using the heart from the Wood Crate Framelits.   I then tied a triple loop bow and attached it with a glue dot.  I added a rhinestone on the top of the bow to give it a little bit of bling,

Don't you just love how the little thank you gift coordinates with the card we made?  To make the little gift I used the tutorial from a wonderful and very talented demonstrator, Angie Juda with Chick n Scratch.

COMING NEXT FRIDAY

Fall-clipart-fall_clip_art_3

Starting next Friday, September 1st,  I will be starting my Fall Friday series!  For the next 9 weeks I will be having different projects with the fall theme.  I had a lot of fun last year creating all the different projects that I wanted to do it again.  Don't forget to stop back next week to see what I made!

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

I have a special favor to ask all of you.  I am sure all of you have heard about Hurricane Harvey hitting Texas this weekend.  Our daughter, Emily, lives in Houston and they are expecting around 20 inches of rain over the next 5 days.  Houston likes to flood, so there is going to be a lot of problems from this hurricane.  If you think about it, could you please say for prayer for her and her best friends, Aaron and Tia.  They are staying together in Emily's apartment, which is on second floor, thank goodness.  It is a scary time for the three of them and for the parents back in Ohio.  None of us have ever been through a hurricane, so we don't know what to expect.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Love to all of you!

Country Livin' Sponging Video

Stampin Up, stampin' Up! Country Livin' stamp set #141925, Stylized Birthday stamp set #141828, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I had a lot of fun making my second video and I think it turned out pretty good. The camera does shake when I ink my stamps, hopefully, in my next video I won't have that problem.  I am learning a lot about editing, cutting sections, adding sections and the fading.  I took a class at our Apple store about how to use iMovie and was a bit overwhelmed.  There is so much you can do, so I have a lot to learn.

The products I used to make this card are:

Cajun Craze Cardstock #119684

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 7 1/4"

The ink colors I used were:

  • Cajun Craze
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Early Espresso
  • Old Olive
  • Pear Pizzazz
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • So Saffron

The best thing with sponging on your projects is that there will never be two the same.  Each one is very unique from all the others.

Here is my video!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Better Together Wedding Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Better Together Stamp Set #141736, Garden Trellis Embossing Folder #143741, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

At my Christmas Card class the other day, we were talking about what types of cards they wanted to make for my stamp camp class. Diana had mentioned that she needed a wedding card, so could we do one.  I said, "Sure, we haven't done a wedding card in a long time". I actually don't remember the last time I made a wedding card for a class.  I wanted a card that was simple, but elegant at the same time.

The Garden Trellis Embossing Folder adds texture and elegance to it. I used the sentiments from the Better Together stamp set, with the inside sentiment saying All The Best for a future filled with love!  The little touch of gold with the 1/8" gold ribbon really brings it up a notch too.

There were some ladies that wanted an anniversary card instead, so we dug out my old retired sets and found some great stamps that would work for the size of oval we had.  The current stamp sets did not have a big enough happy anniversary stamp in them.  This is why I don't get rid of too many of my retired stamps.  We still use them from time to time.  Plus, I just love them and don't want to get rid of them.  I am usually not a keeper, but when it comes to my craft supplies, I sure am.  How about you?

To make this card you will need the following products:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock #140272

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Fresh Fig Cardstock #144242

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

I used stampin dimensionals on the ovals to pop up the sentiment. This card would be very easy to change the color of the cardstock to coordinate with the wedding colors.

We had a busy and fun weekend at our house.  We are in the process of updating our home, now that we are empty nesters.  We have to do something with our time, so why not work on the house.  On Saturday, we (I should say Mr. Wonderful) started working on painting the hall upstairs and trim work for the stairways.  Once the painting is done upstairs and the plumbing fixtures changed in the main bathroom, all we have to do is the carpet and then the upstairs is done!  Yay!

Our new countertops are getting measured this week and should be in at the end of September.  We are still discussing what color to paint the kitchen, which has been interesting.  The new knobs are on the kitchen cabinets and I really like them.  Who would have thought that just changing the knobs it can change the whole look of your cabinets.  We are not going to be doing anything with the floors at this time because I am still doing daycare.  I don't want to put in new carpet and having one of the babies either, pee, poop or puke on it. LOL  With my luck, that is exactly what would happen.

A lot of people have been asking me when I am going to retire from daycare.  I really don't know.  I have been setting dates that I want to retire, and then God has a different plan.  So, for now it is whenever God tells me it is time to retire.  I can't believe in November it will be 29 years of having a daycare in my home.  It still amazes me, especially since I was never getting married or have children.  Boy, was God laughing at that one.

On Sunday, I went to Sip and Dipity Paint Bar with a customer, now a new friend, Diana.  We had such a good time.  One side is pumpkins and the other side is a snowman.  Isn't that so cute?!  I love it!  Although, I love anything with snowman on it.

Do you need a fast and easy card to give someone? Here is a great card for you.  The Layered Leaves embossing folder is a 3D folder and really dimension to this card.  With the 3D folders you spritz your paper with water and then run it through your big shot machine.  This will give your paper a 3D effect, which is so pretty.  The sentiment in the inside of the card is "Squeeze it for all it's worth!".

To make this card you will need the following products:

Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock #144245

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

  • scraps for the sentiment and leaves of the lemon

Both sentiments (on front and inside of card) were stamped using the Lemon Lime Twist ink.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend.

While I was creating this card I was thinking of cool days, fresh crisp air, bonfires, pumpkins, leaves turning colors, football (Mr. Wonderful loves watching college football) and everything pumpkin spice.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Then I was wanting to put up my fall decorations, but since it is August, I don't think the time is right yet.   LOL

This stamp set, Painted Harvest, is in the new 2017 Holiday catalog.  I love the whole Painted Autumn suite!  You will be seeing me use this stamp set and the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper a lot in the next few months.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Soft Suede Cardstock #115318

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

The colors I used to stamp the images are:

Flowers: Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight with Soft Suede in the center

  • stamp the first step with Daffodil Delight and then with Crushed Curry ink for the second step
  • On the center of the flowers there is suppose to be an almost white spot in it.  You do not have a defective stamp.

Leaves:  Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz

  • stamp the first step with Pear Pizzazz and then the Garden Green after it has been stamped off first.

    Happy Birthday:  Soft Suede

I stamped a flower in the inside of my card along with my envelope.

This stamp set will not be available for purchase until September 1, 2017.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to get a catalog, please let me know.  I will be happy to send you one.

Daisy Delight with Happy Birthday Thinlit

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Daisy Punch #143713, Delightful Daisy DSP #144137, 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon- Daffodil Delight #144416, Faceted Gems #144141, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I was looking outside my window yesterday and was a little sad that our daisy's are finished blooming for the year.  We have a stray one here and there, but that's it.  This card was made with no stamp set or ink.  I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits and the Daisy Punch along with cardstock and the beautiful Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  Did you see the ribbon?  It is called double stitched ribbon which means there are "x" on one side and the other side looks like stitching.

This is the ribbon I like so much that I have order 6 spools of it.  LOL Whenever I was placing an order at the beginning of the catalog launch I would add it on to my order.  I did that 3 times!  What is really sad is that I only have 2 left.  I guess I really do like it.

To make this card you need the following materials:

Night of Navy Cardstock #100867

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the Happy Birthday
  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 3/4 x 5" to punch out the flowers
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for this inside of the card

Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper #144137

  • cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

To make the Happy Birthday easier to stick down I used our new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  I was so excited when I saw them return in the annual catalog.  If you haven't tried them, you will love them once you do.  I had some left from when we use to sell them, but I have to admit I was hoarding them.  LOL  Now I can buy more!

I punched out 2 of the daisy flowers and staggered them to give it a fuller look, which I like.  For the center of the flower I used the Faceted Gems in gold (I used the largest sized one).  I attached my ribbon first and then added my daisy, but I laid my daisy down where I wanted it for a guide of where to put my ribbon.  The daisy is adhered using a dimensional to give it height and to go over the ribbon.

This is a fun and easy card to make for a birthday, especially a summer birthday.

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

It was a busy weekend at our house.  On Friday, for two of my angels, it was their last day with me taking care of them.  I have to say, this is the hardest part of my job.  I love these children so much and when they leave it breaks my heart.  Heck, I am crying while I am typing this and its been three days.  I know they will do great, but it is still hard.  I think the hardest part is, they won't remember me because they are 3 and 4 years old.  Can you remember anything when you were that age?

On Saturday I went to Stamp Away (it is a convention of different companies selling all things to do with paper crafting) with my best friend Robin.  We both wanted to go to the Stamp n Storage booth.  If you are in need of storage for your crafting supplies, I highly highly recommend them.  Click HERE for their website.  The two of us definitely bought out share of things from them.  I can always find places to add more pieces to what I already have.

When we got home Mr. Wonderful and I went looking at countertops for the kitchen and carpet for our upstairs.  We are slowly trying to update our house (which is 18 years old) and are almost finished with the upstairs.  We decided on our countertops!  Yay! They have been ordered and hopefully they will be here in about 4 weeks.  Now, time to really starting to look at carpet.

I hope you had a terrific weekend and have a marvelous Monday! Today is the beginning of a new week, make it special!

At Home With You

stampin up, Stampin' Up! At Home with You #143681, At Home Framelits #143272, Brick Wall Embossing Folder #138288, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Have you seen the stamp set and matching framelits called At Home With You?  These two were on my preorder list for our 2017-2018 annual catalog.  I thought of so many ideas for welcoming someone to the neighborhood, welcome card for friends and family who just moved, Christmas card, Halloween card and/or Thanksgiving card.  You can make the door open or keep it shut as I did on this card.  I used this card for a friend of mine that had moved into a new house.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Powder Pink Cardstock #144244

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Smoky Slate Cardstock #131202

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5  3/8"

Crumb Cake Cardstock #120953

  • cut at 4" x 4 1/2"

Soft Suede Cardstock #115318

  • cut at 2 1/2"  x 4 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/2"
  • scrap pieces for the wreath, lanterns and flower pots

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack #144131

  • cut at 3/4" x 2 1/4"

I used the Soft Suede ink to stamp the door on the Soft Suede cardstock.  I sponged Crumb Cake ink on the Crumb Cake paper after I embossed it with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

I used the following markers to color the other images and cut them out with the matching framelits.

Lanterns:  Soft Suede and Crushed Curry

Wreath: Berry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Fresh Fig

Flower Pots: Berry Bliss, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Fresh Fig

You can stamp a sentiment on the mat by the door or leave it blank as I did.

What would you create with this stamp set?

Thank you stopping by today!  I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

My First Video - A Sneak Peek

IdiditstampinscrapperJoyceWhitman

I finally took the plunge and made my first video!  Guess what?!  I had so much fun making it!  I am not sure why I was nervous and waited so long to make one.  I have a lot to learn about editing, so I didn't do much on this one.  I was able to figure out how to put my logo in the beginning.  Yay!  I did not do any editing to the video itself.

This video is a sneak peek at the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  I am in love with this catalog and I think you will be too.  There are so many fun new products to create beautiful projects.  I can't wait to start playing with them and create projects to share with all of you.

Here is the video!

When you are finished watching the video, could you be so kind and give me a thumbs up?

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have a terrific Thursday!
