Thankful Thoughts (CT #132)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Thankful Thoughts #141522, Bundle of Love Specialty designer series paper #144143, Bold Butterfly Framelits #138135, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

It was perfect timing with having to come up with a card for CASEing Tuesday and needing thank you notes for my online orders this month.   For this card I used the Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes.  You get 20 cards and envelopes in the pack and they are perfect size for thank you notes.   Here is the picture of our inspiration this week.

26195627_10212422176683874_4014764795269655706_n

This time I followed the layout pretty close.  I decided to totally change the look of it, as I wanted to use a stamp set and designer series paper from the annual catalog.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes #144236

Blushing Bride Cardstock #131198

  • cut at 2" x 4"

Soft Sky Cardstock #131203

  • scrap to cut out a 2 1/2" circle

Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper #144143

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 3 3/4"
  • scrap for a 2 1/4" circle

Gold Foil Paper #132622

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2 1/4"

When you cut the Blushing Bride and Bundle of Love pieces for the banners you want to cut the width just a hair under the 2" and 1 1/2".  This way they will slide right in the Banner Triple Punch.

To cut out the butterfly I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits with the Gold Foil Paper.  I attached it with glue dots to the circle of designer series paper and bent up the wings so it looks like it is flying.

Have you used the note cards yet?  If not, I highly recommend them!

I am getting so excited!  On Thursday I am going to Michigan for a Leadership conference and I can't wait!  I am excited to see people I know and to meet new people.  I get to room with one of my best friends, Cathy and my new friend, Mary.  We are going to have so much fun!  I am praying for good weather and not a lot of snow.  There are people traveling from all over the country by car and plane.  If you think about it, can you say a little prayer that everyone arrives safe.  Thank you.

I can't wait to share the swaps I made for this weekend.  I think you are going to love the Party Panda card.  I have never made a card like this before.  Check back on Monday and Wednesday to see the two swaps I made.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Masculine Perennial Birthday Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Perennial Birthday stamp set #145760, True Gentleman designer series paper #145593, Tailored Tag Punch #145667, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Have you seen the True Gentleman Suite in the Occasions catalog?  I am so excited that Stampin' Up! has designed such a wonderful suite (stamp set, desginer series paper, buttons, markers, punch and matching ribbon) for the gentleman in our lives.  I don't know about you, but sometimes it is hard to come up with a masculine card for any occasion.  The True Gentleman designer series paper is absolutely beautiful!  I have used it to make the balloons on this card.

The sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch.  You can get the Truly Tailored stamp set and the Tailored Tag Punch as a bundle and save 10%.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Night of Navy Cardstock #100687

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • a piece of scrap for the balloon

Crumb Cake Cardstock #120953

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4

Tranquil Tide Cardstock #144246

  • 2" x 2 3/4" for the border on the sentiment
  • a piece of scrap for the balloon

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 2" x 2 3/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside

True Gentleman Designer Series Paper #145593

  • piece of scrap from different designs in the pack

To make the embossing on the piece of Crumb Cake cardstock I used the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder.  I realized after I had taken the picture and did all the editing that I put the Crumb Cake paper on backwards.  The side showing in the picture should be taped to the card base, not showing.  It must have been a late night when I made this card. So, when you make your card, make sure you put the correct side up.  LOL

I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock and then cut it in half length wise.  You will attach this to each side of the stamped image that has been stamped in Night of Navy ink and punch out with the same punch.

For the balloons I used the Balloon Bouquet punch and made 4 big balloons and 2 small balloons.  I put a little bit of snail adhesive near the bottom on the back of the balloons and adhered Linen Thread for the strings of the balloons.  I then added a Stampin Dimensional in the middle of each balloon and adhered them onto the Crumb Cake cardstock.  Gently pull down the strings to the balloons and put a small piece of tape near the bottom of the Crumb Cake cardstock.  I laid my sentiment on my card, not adhering it, so I knew where it was going to be placed.  That way I made sure I put the adhesive behind the sentiment and nobody knows it's there.  I trimmed the strings so they were even with the bottom of the Crumb Cake piece.  Adhered the sentiment and I was finished.

The Cutest Little Hedgehog

Stampin Up, Stampin Up Painted Harvest #144783, A Little Wild #144344, Foxy Friends #141549, Butterfly Basics #137154, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Leaf Punch #144667, Pinewood Planks embossing folder #143708, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Is he not the cutest little hedgehog?  Do you know what Stamp set he is made from?  The Painted Harvest!  I love how that stamp set is so versatile!  You can make sunflowers, sunsets, sunrises, Christmas wreaths and hedgehogs, just to name a few.

I will admit this card I used a lot of different products on.  I usually try not to use more than 2, sometimes 3 stamp sets on a project and this one I used four.  I used the Painted Harvest for his head, Foxy Friends for his face, Butterfly Basics for the sentiment and A Little Wild for the grass.  You can easily use other stamp sets that you have to make him.  The only one that I feel is the most important is the Painted Harvest.  That gives you a great foundation to work from.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"

Crumb Cake Cardstock #120953

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Pear Pizzazz Cardstock #131201

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3" x 3"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Wood Textures Designer Series Paper #144177

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 4"

I made this card a little different than I usually do.  On the small white piece of paper I stamped my sentiment near the bottom of the paper.  You want to make sure you leave enough room for the Stitched Shapes (Square) Framelit to cut.  I then cut it out it with the framelit without doing any of the other stamping.  The reason is, I wanted to make sure I had enough room for both the sentiment and hedgehog.  With stamping the image first and then cutting it, I knew how much room I had to stamp the hedgehog.  The Painted Harvest stamp set is photopolymer so you can see exactly where you are stamping which makes it so nice!

Before you stamp your hedgehog you have to put a piece of post it note paper where you want the line to be for him to be peeking over.  Keep the paper there until you are totally done stamping him.  I first stamped the big flower stamp in Painted Harvest with Crumb Cake ink that I stamped off first.  Then the small flower stamp with Soft Suede ink.  To make sure I had enough room to stamp his face, I made sure that the center of the stamp (the circle) was a little above my post it note.  When you are done with these steps you can remove your post it note.

The face was stamped with a stamp from the Foxy Friends stamp set in Early Espresso ink.  The grass I used Pear Pizzazz and a stamp from the A Little Wild stamp set.  I punched out the leaves using the Pear Pizzazz cardstock with the Leaf Punch that was carried over from the Holiday catalog.

The background is made with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and then I added a strip of paper from the Wood Textures designer series paper.  Another very versatile product.  So many things you can do with wood paper.

I popped up the Early Espresso square so the leaves could fit better underneath of it.

I know this was a lot of different steps for this card.  I hope I explained all of them to you that you can now make this card for yourself.   If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Epic Celebrations and Perennial Birthday

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Epic Celebrations stamp set ##147236, Perennial Birthday stamp set #145760, Banner Triple Punch #138292, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Do you need a birthday card for a teenager?  I know it is hard sometimes to come up with cards for them, but I think this card will be perfect.  You could also use this for a masculine card.  I used a stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, Epic Celebrations, and from the Occasions catalog, Perennial Birthday.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Dapper Denim Cardstock #141414

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 5"

Real Red Cardstock #102482

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • cut at 4"  x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1" x 4 3/4"

I used the Memento Black ink to stamp the shoes randomly on the 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White paper.  I also stamped it on the bottom left corner of the 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White paper, for the inside of the card, and the envelope.   Happy Birthday is stamped with Dapper Denim ink.

After I punched the Dapper Denim and Whisper White pieces with the Banner Triple Punch, I laid them out on the white piece of paper that is stamped with the shoes.  I wanted so see where I wanted them to go, before I adhered them permanently.   I had extra cardstock on the left hand side after I adhered them, so I just trimmed it with my paper snips.

Remember last week when I told you that I made the wrong card for CASEing Tuesday.  Well, this is the card that I created last week that was really for this weeks post.  At least I had it finished.  Here is the card that we used for our inspiration.

26814883_10214041850097264_8414288958505856640_n

To make this card you will need the following products:

Old Olive Cardstock #100702

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • scrap for a 1 3/4" circle

Bermuda Bay Cardstock #131197

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • scrap for 1 1/2" circle

I stamped the images in Garden Green ink and then colored them in Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay markers.  I stamped the image in Bermuda Bay and then punched it out with the 1 1/2" circle punch.  I added the Bermuda Bay ribbon from the Shimmer Ribbon Pack in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

You can earn the ribbon FREE if you order $50 in product before tax and shipping.  It is hard to see in the picture, but it shines and is so pretty.  I then added the Tutti Frutti sequins .

I stamped the flower on the left on the inside of the card and on the envelope.

3 x 3 Birthday Cards With Crate

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Perennial Birthday stamp set, Wood Crate Framelits #143730, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

On Friday night I had my 3D class and this was one of the projects we made.  This is a perfect gift for a teacher, friend, co worker or a  family member just to name a few.  I made the little crate with the Wood Crate Framelits and made 3 x 3 cards.  The envelopes were carried over from the Holiday catalog, which I am so happy about!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Calypso Coral Cardstock #122925

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" for 3 scallop ovals

Whisper White Thick Cardstock #140272

  • cut 3 at 3" x 6" score at 3"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" for sentiments

Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper #145564

  • cut 3 at 2 7/8 x 2 7/8"

When I put the crate together, I glue the two bottom pieces together first.  I then adhere the little tabs to form the crate.

For the cards, I attached the designer series paper and then the sentiment.  I made three to put in the crate, but you could easily do 6 -8, maybe even 10.

I used the beautiful 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon in silver for the bow on the front.

Lovely Wishes Swap Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Lovely Wishes stamp set #145924, Ruffled Embossing Folder #143699, Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge ribbon #145489, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

At the beginning of each new catalog there are so many swaps that you can participate in.  If you don't know what a swap is, it is where you make 12 cards (this is just an example) using products from the new catalog and all the cards are the same.   Then you mail them to the leader of the swap and she will send you back 12 different cards.  Everyone in the group (12 of you) will get the same 12 cards.

I am really starting to get involved in swaps and I have to say I love it.  I participated in 6 different ones this time and there is not one card that I received that I didn't like.  Some of them are absolutely beautiful.  The best part is I can have them on display and my class attendees can see so many more samples than I could ever make.  I can also show them sample of cards for stamp sets I don't have.   I liked one of them so well, we are going to be making it at my open house on Saturday.

The above card is one that I made for one of the Occasions catalog swaps.  To make this card you will need the following products:

Berry Burst Cardstock #144243

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 3" x 4 1/4"

Old Olive Cardstock #100702

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 3 3/4"

On the 3 3/4" x 5" piece of whisper white cardstock I used the Ruffled 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  What is special about this embossing folder is that it gives a 3D look.  You have to squirt your paper first with water before you use the Big Shot

I stamped the flower image with Old Olive ink and then used the Stampin Write Marker in Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz.  For the sentiment I stamped it with the Berry Burst ink.  To finish off the card, I added the Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon around the top three layers and then tied a knot in it. Those three layers are popped up off the paper using Stampin' Dimensionals.

In the inside of the card and on the envelope, I stamped the flower on the bottom left hand corner.  You can color these too if you want, but they are beautiful just stamped with the Old Olive ink.

A Little Wild (CT #130)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! A Little Wild stamp st #144344, Sheltering Tree #137163, CASEing Tuesday #130, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas and scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I thought I was doing so good over the weekend.  I finished things for my team meeting on Wednesday night, finished my projects and everything else for my 3D class on Friday and worked on things for my open house, which is on Saturday.  Last night I went to write my blog for CASEing Tuesday today and realized I made the wrong card.  I made the one for next week!  At least I have next week's card done.

Here is the picture we used for inspiration this week.

26166825_10212422173843803_5702939114840474404_n

This is a card that I quickly made last night for the correct CASing Tuesday!  Needless to say, this is going to be a short post.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes #147242

  • I used the Daffodil Delight one - these are from Sale-A-Bration

Soft Sky Cardstock #131203

  • scrap for 1 3/8" circle

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 2" x 6"
  • scrap for the 1 1/4" circle

Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper #144143

  • 3 1/2" x 4"

Did you notice the Tutti Frutti Card base?  You can get these for FREE!!!  How, you ask?  For every $50 you order in product, before tax and shipping, you get a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  This great sale is going on from now until March 31, 2018.

I used the grass stamp from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the Pear Pizzazz ink on the bottom section of the white paper.  I stamped it a little higher in the middle, like a little hill, for the elephant.  Otherwise, he looked like he was flying in the air.  LOL  I also used the Memento Ink to stamp the cute little animals because I knew I wanted to color them with the Blends markers.  The Blends are alcohol based, so you have to use the Memento ink with them.  The more I use the markers, the more I love them!

I wanted to soften the white paper on the top section, so I took Soft Sky ink and lightly sponged the white area.  I then went around the edges of the paper, except where I stamped the grass.

Here are the colors I used for each animal:

1.  Lion - Crumb Cake - light and dark and Bronze

2.  Elephant - Smoky Slate - light and dark

3.  Bear - Crumb Cake - light and dark

I have the animals and the sentiment popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Desk Calendar

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper #145564, Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon #145489, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits #141497, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have been wanting to make these calendars for a while and now I had the perfect reason to.  These were my thank you gifts for everyone who attend my Customer Appreciation Event.  I love them so much that I have one sitting on my desk.

To make this project you are going to need the following products:

Berry Burst Cardstock #144243

  • cut 2 1/2" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"
  • cut at 4" x 5" score at 1", 2 1/2" and 4"

Old Olive Cardstock #100702

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 3/4"

Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper #145564

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I was easier for me to decorate the front, except the calendar and ribbon, first before putting in the middle section.  When you go to cut the swirl behind the ribbon, I found it to be faster and less mess if I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets on the cardstock first and then cut it with the Big Shot.  I am loving the adhesive sheets.  I seem to be using them a lot lately, mainly because they are a lot faster and not so messy or sticky.

To adhere the small piece of Berry Burst cardstock to both of the sides of the calendar base, I used the Tear and Tape.  The reason for this is because I figured it will get moved a lot, used a lot and hopefully picked up and looked at a lot.  I didn't want it to fall apart, and knew that the Tear and Tape is a strong adhesive.  You want to attach the middle section so it make a "W".  You are going to put tape on the outside of the "W" near the bottom and top.  You want the bottom edge of the base to be even with the bottom of the outside of the "W".   See the pictures below.

To finish it off I added the bow, made with the Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon, to the center of the swirl from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  I used the Tear and Tape again to put the calendar on to the base.

One of the things that I really like about this calendar is that you can fold it flat and put it in an envelope and send to family and friends.

On Friday night we had the grand Randall's over for a sleepover.  It was a lot of fun!  We made popcorn and watched movies and just enjoyed each other.  I will have to say it was a little weird not having either of our girls here.

The best part of the weekend was when Erica came home yesterday for a few days.  At Christmas we didn't even get 36 hours with her, but now we are going to get a few days! Yay!  I was also excited that she brought with her this tote I wanted.

Have you ever seen something and thought I really like that, but not today.  Well, that was me in Target right before Christmas.  There was this tote bag that I fell in love with, but thought no I will wait until after Christmas.  I should know better.  I always tell my girls that if they find something they like at Target, you get it now because it won't be there when you get back.  I should have listened to myself on this one.  It was gone when I went back.  So I called Erica to see if they had it at the store in Michigan and they did!  I was so excited!  I have to admit I have an obsession with totes, bags and purses.  What can I say, I love them!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a marvelous Monday!

Sometimes I want a fast and easy card that I can make up in about 5-10 minutes and I think this one is a great one just for that.  We made this card at my event last weekend and it is so easy.  Again, I used my favorite paper the Sweet Soiree Specialty designer series paper in the Occasions catalog.

You could easily make this a masculine card by leaving off the flowers and rhinestones and add balloons instead.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Marina Mist Cardstock #119682

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Old Olive Cardstock #100702

  • cut at 1 3/8" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 5 1/4"

Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper #145564

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I used the Perennial Birthday stamp set in the Occasions catalog for the sentiment on this card.  I used Marina Mist for the Happy Birthday and Daffodil Delight for the flowers.  To add a little bit of bling, I put a rhinestone, the biggest ones on the sheet, in the center of each flower.  I than stamped one flower on the inside of the card and three on the envelope, both in the bottom left hand corner using the Daffodil Delight ink.
