Tranquil Tulips with Brick Wall Embossing Folder

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tulips #143767, Brick Wall Embossing Folder #138288, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits #141489, Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon #144134, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I think I have already told you how much I am going to miss this stamp set when it retires at the end of the month, but I am also going to miss the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  This is one folder that I won't be getting rid of, it will go in my keep pile.

I love cards that have dimension to them and this card is one of them.  The Tranquil Tulip stamp set is a two step stamp set, which means you create the images in two steps.  The first step is to stamp the solid image, the bottom layer, in a lighter color or stamp off your ink first.  When I say stamp off your ink I mean to first stamp your image on a scrap piece of paper and then stamp it onto your project.  This will give you a lighter hue of the color you are using.  Then you stamp your second step right on top of the first image in the same color or a darker color.  On this card I used the same color, Lovely Lipstick.  Lovely Lipstick is one of the 2018-2020 In Colors which will be available June 1st.

Since I wanted to pop the top layer I did not stamp mine on top of each other, I stamped them next to each other on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I then fussy cut, cut them out with scissors, and attached the two layers together with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tulips #143767, Brick Wall Embossing Folder #138288, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits #141489, Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon #144134, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

For the Love sentiment I cut 2 of them using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I cut one out of  Powder Pink and one out of  Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  I then adhered them together using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and offset them just a little.  The finished circle is also popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Whisper White Thick

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Masculine Birthday Blossoms

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms #139471, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper #144177, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

The font in the Birthday Blossoms stamp set is one of my favorites.   I am really going to miss this stamp set when it retires on May 31st.  I love how it has sentiments for narrow areas, like in the card above, or for when you have a little more room.  There is also a flower in the stamp set that coordinates with the Pansy Punch and that is also retiring at the end of the month.

The technique on this card is called the Starburst Technique.  This is a great way to use up scraps or showcase different patterns from a designer series paper pack.  So many possibilities with this technique.  You could do a masculine, new baby, birthday, wedding, anniversary, get well, hello, thinking of you, sympathy, just because or a note card.  These are just some ideas for cards, I am sure there are a lot more reasons to send a card.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"cut at

  • cut at 1/2" x 5"

Marina Mist (Retiring)

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 5"

Wood Textures Designer Series Paper

  • cut 4 different designs at 1 1/2" x 4"

I have made this technique before using a different designer series paper.  It is amazing how different a card can look, just by changing the designer series paper.  The possibilities are endless!

Click on the picture below and it will take you to to the card I posted on February 6, 2017.  The post has step by step directions on how to create this beautiful, or should I say handsome, birthday card for the man in your life.

Christmas in May? You bet! (CT#147)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Hang Your Stocking stamp set #142114, Holly Embossing Folder #141634, Seasonal Layers Thinlits #143751, Be Merry Designer Series Paper, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and more go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

You are probably asking yourself why in the world did I make a Christmas card in May.  Well, I was working on making my card for CASEing Tuesday and started looking through my retired stamp sets.  I saw the Christmas sets and Christmas designer series paper and thought, why not?!

Here is our inspirational card for this week:

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! CASEing Tuesday, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I used a few retiring products on this card.  The retiring products are: Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler oval paper and is from Be Merry designer series paper, banner and snowflakes are made with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I used the Holly Embossing Folder on the Garden Green paper to give it some texture.

In the first picture, for some reason, the glimmer paper is showing up as white paper.  It didn't matter how I moved my lights around or what angle I took the picture.  I couldn't get the glimmer paper to show up.  You can, however, see it in the above picture.  I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut out the snowflakes.  I had to use the precision plate along with going back and forth at least 4 times to go through the glimmer paper.  Stampin' Up! has new glimmer paper in the new annual catalog that will cut with our framelits/thinlits.  Yay!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Cherry Cobbler

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4 x 5 1/4"

Be Merry Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Vellum

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper

  • cut at 3/4" x 2 1/2"
  • cut at 1 3/4" x 4 1/2"

I stamped the sentiment on the Vellum paper with Garden Green ink.  You are going to have to let it dry for a little bit or use your heating tool to dry it.  I then took the Multi Purpose Liquid Glue and put a small amount on a clear block and used a sponge to tap it on the back of the Vellum.  This way you will not see the glue through the Vellum.  I popped up the sentiment and banner with Stampin Dimensionals.

Mark and I were busy over the weekend working on our deck.  I really like how it turned out.  My favorite thing to do is to sit on my deck, with my coffee and read my bible.  It is so calming and relaxing.  Here are some pictures of our deck.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day.  I was able to talk to both of my girls and my mom, so it was wonderful day for me.

I love this picture of my mom and me.  It was taken when I was in Michigan last month for her 85th birthday and to see Erica.  Mark is going to see Erica this weekend, so I get to craft all weekend long!  I can't wait!  I will miss Mark dearly, but I am also excited to be able to play in my studio as long as I want.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a fabulous week!

Retiring Flower Shop and Window Shopping

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Flower Shop stamp set #130942, Window Shopping 143265, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman
When I had my Hostess Appreciation event we made a couple of make and takes and this was one of the cards.  I wanted to have a bright and cheerful card along with showcasing one of the new colors, Pineapple Punch.  This color is so beautiful and bright,  just like the sunshine.  I tried different colors to coordinate with it and loved the way Tempting Turquoise really popped next to the Pineapple Punch.  I will definitely miss this color as it is retiring at the end of the month.  If you want it, get it now!  Don't forget to order the ink refill if you get the ink pad.   I chose retiring stamp sets, Flower Shop and Window Shopping, for the flowers and sentiment.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Tempting Turquoise

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Pineapple Punch

  • cut at 4 x 5 1/4

Whisper White

  • cut at 1 5/8" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

I used the Stamparatus for the sentiment, which was perfect for centering it on the Whisper White cardstock.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Flower Shop stamp set #130942, Window Shopping 143265, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

One thing I did to center the white pieces was put the top and bottom pieces, with the flowers stamped on them, and then added the middle piece.  It is a lot easier to center the middle piece then trying to start at the top and work your way down.

On Saturday I will be participating in a blog hop featuring new products.  I can't wait for you to see the project I made.  The blog post will not go up until 12:00pm instead of me early morning post.

Thank you for stopping by today.  The weekend is almost here!  Enjoy your day today.

Enjoy Life - (CT #146)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Enjoy Life stamp set #148190, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have to say I am really enjoying being a part of  the CASEing Tuesday challenges.  This week the inspiration card has a Memories and More card on the front of it and that got me thinking.

31275793_10213282959482906_8668561364286963712_n

Should I use a retiring Memories or should I use a new one.  I went and looked to see if the set I have from the current was still available and saw that it wasn't.  I don't want to use a product that you are no longer able to order (the Petal Passion Memories and More packet is sold out) so I got out the new Delightfully Detailed Memories and More Card Pack.

Oh my goodness, this card pack is absolutely gorgeous!  As I was going through the pack I saw a large piece that had a marble effect in the color of Mint Macaron and knew immediately I wanted to use it.   Mint Macaron is coming back in the new Color Revamp.  Yay!!!  What color would go best with it?  I had a piece of Blackberry Burst sitting on my craft table and it was so pretty with it.

Since I was using a new Memories and More card pack, new colors, I also wanted to use a new stamp set.  As I am looking at them I saw the Enjoy Life stamp set and thought the Sentiment was so beautiful.  I really like how the sentiment, stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, looked on top of the flowers (I think that is what they are  LOL).  To stamp them lightly on the paper, I inked up the stamp with Mint Macaron ink and then stamped it off on a piece of scrap paper before I stamped it on the paper.

On Friday night I had my first Bingo night.  We had so much fun!  We made 4 cards and had fun playing a few games of Bingo.  The ladies stamped, used the Stamparatus, had a snack, but most importantly laughed.  It was so wonderful to laugh and have fun with some of the best friends I have.  Since this was my first one, I asked them for feedback on how it went.  What did they like, not like, change or add to make it more fun.  The big joke of the night was if they won they would give me a 10, if not I would get a 1.  We had so much fun with it.

I really enjoyed at the end of the evening sitting around talking and enjoying each other.  I am so blessed to have these wonderful woman in my life.

Tranquil Tulips With 2018-2019 In Colors

At our team meeting, Joyful Butterflies,  we made cards using the retiring hostess stamp set Tranquil Tulips from the annual catalog.  I wanted to spotlight one stamp set, but also wanted to introduce the new 2018-20019 In Colors.  So, I went through all of my stamp sets that were retiring and saw this one and thought it would be perfect.  I hadn't touched this stamp set in a long time, there for a while I was using it all the time, and it had the five different stamps for the colors I wanted to showcase.

The new colors are Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Gove, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch.  They are so bright and cheerful and made this card feel the same way.

To make the flowers I first stamped off the solid images before stamping them on my card.  For the second step of the flowers I did not stamp off, I stamped with full strength ink.  This gave the flowers great dimension and look more realistic.

Whisper White

Over the weekend I had gone to Michigan to celebrate my mom's 85th birthday, see our daughter, Erica and also be with my mom on Sunday.  Sunday was the 30th anniversary of my dad's death.  Our family was changed forever, and he is still missed as much today as he was 30 years ago.  It was an emotional weekend, happy times and tough times when I would remember different things about him as I would be driving around.  I still can't believe it has been 30 years.  Wow!

I had a great time with Erica and my family.  We were being silly on Thursday night in the hotel room.  As a kid I would always make the girls wear matching clothes, which they didn't like, so Erica thought it would be great if we had matching pajamas.  Here are some pictures of us having a fun.

I love making memories with my family.  Here are a couple of more pictures from our weekend.

Life has been really crazy since I got back from OnStage.  On Monday I had a doctor's appointment with an ENT as I have been having problems with ringing in my ears.  I have to go through more testing, but I did learn that I have some permanent hearing loss in my left ear and my right ear is not far behind.  I have to admit, I have taken this news hard.  I am having more test next Tuesday and hopefully this will show more of what is going on.

Then on Thursday night I got a phone call from my sister that my mom was taken to the hospital via the squad.  Her blood pressure was 215 over 110.  Talk about scary.  It was caused from the cough syrup she was taking .  My mom is doing great now, thank God!  I am heading up to Michigan on Thursday to spend time with Erica and my mom and help her celebrate her birthday.  I can't believe that my mom is going to be 85!  It will be great to see my family!

Lets talk about OnStage!  It was so much fun!  I got to walk across the stage for being a demonstrator for 5 years and for promoting to Silver Elite.  I had so much fun!  I can't wait to go again in November.  There was also great sadness that weekend.  One of my best friends, Cathy, got to Milwaukee on Thursday and Mary and I were driving up on Friday.  We couldn't wait to spend the weekend together!  We got a call on Friday morning from Cathy that her husband had passed away during the night and she had to get home.  Talk about total shock and my heart was and still is breaking for her.  I can not imagine what she is going through.  If you get a chance please say a prayer for her and her family.  They have a lot to go through over the next few weeks and months.

So, the last week has had a lot of emotional days, but I know God is in control of all of the situations, so I trust Him that He has the best plan for all of us.

I always tell my customers to stamp first and then punch or cut out with framelits.  This is one time that I told them to punch first and then stamp.  The reason is, you need to know where to put the sentiment on the tag and it is easier to already have it punched out.

The Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon is so beautiful.  I think this might be my favorite ribbon in a very long time.  I am so happy to let you know that this ribbon will be carried over to the new annual catalog.  Yay!!!

I popped up the tag and added the Tutti Frutti Sequins and Bakers Twine bow to finish off the card.

This is going to be a short post as I am still trying to finish up things for my trip to Milwaukee for the Stampin' Up! OnStage.  I have had to do things a little slower this week as I hurt my shoulder on Monday night.  I really think my body is starting to give out from picking up all my precious angels for the last 29 years.  My shoulder is doing much better today, but I still have to be real careful of what I pick up with that arm.

I hope you have a great day and weekend!  Don't forget to check out pictures over the weekend on my Facebook page and Instagram.

One thing I like about CASEing Tuesday's is that you get to use products that you have neglected for awhile.  Also, we get a date and then, we get to pick the card we want to use for our inspiration.  This week it was my turn to pick.  If you know me, you know I love coffee.  All I drink is water and coffee, so I have become quite the coffee snob.

So, when I first saw the stamp set, Coffee Cafe', it was the first on my must have list.  With the other new catalogs coming out it kind of got neglected for a while.  I chose this picture so I would get out this set and start using it again.  I love all the products in the Coffee Break Suite and used some of them on this card.

Here is my inspiration card:

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Pear Pizzazz

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 2 1/2"  x 3 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 2 1/4" for the lids
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Coffee Break Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2" - you will want to cut it a hair below the two inches
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

This is an easy card that is fun to make.  I used the Banner Triple Punch for the dark brown banner.   You are going to want to cut it just a hair under 2 inches so that it will slide right into the punch.  All the patterned paper is from the Coffee Break designer series paper.  I love how everything coordinates.

I stamped the big coffee cup with Soft Suede ink and Pear Pizzazz ink for the sentiment on the outside of the cup.  The lid was made from a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I adhered the small coffee cup with snail, but popped this corrugated heart.  This little heart came from the Corrugated Elements that coordinates with this suite so well.  The big coffee cup is also popped.

On the inside of the card and on the envelope I stamp a coffee cup with a lid.

Yesterday we woke up to the most beautiful snowfall I have seen in a long time.  Yes, it is April and Spring, but I think Mother Nature is a little confused right now.  LOL  Here are some pictures I took look out our sliding glass door in the back of our house.

The pictures really don't show how beautiful it was out this morning.  The sun was coming up and making the snow sparkle.  I don't want so, but if I have to have it, I am glad God made it so stunning.

I am so excited!!! On Friday I am leaving for Milwaukee for the Stampin' Up! OnStage conference.  I can't believe that I get to go to the special dinner on Friday night too.  I am still in shock.  I will get to also walk across the stage for my 5 year anniversary and for my promotion to Silver Elite.  I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.  LOL

The best part of going is seeing all the wonderful friends that I have made on this journey with Stampin' Up!  I have to say, most of my best friends are fellow demos.  I would not have met any of them if it wasn't for my decision to become part of the Stampin' Up! family.  I am so thankful!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and stay warm!
