Sneak Peek - Painted Harvest

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest stamp set #144783, Stylized Birthday stamp set #141828, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

While I was creating this card I was thinking of cool days, fresh crisp air, bonfires, pumpkins, leaves turning colors, football (Mr. Wonderful loves watching college football) and everything pumpkin spice.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Then I was wanting to put up my fall decorations, but since it is August, I don't think the time is right yet.   LOL

This stamp set, Painted Harvest, is in the new 2017 Holiday catalog.  I love the whole Painted Autumn suite!  You will be seeing me use this stamp set and the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper a lot in the next few months.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Soft Suede Cardstock #115318

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

The colors I used to stamp the images are:

Flowers: Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight with Soft Suede in the center

  • stamp the first step with Daffodil Delight and then with Crushed Curry ink for the second step
  • On the center of the flowers there is suppose to be an almost white spot in it.  You do not have a defective stamp.

Leaves:  Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz

  • stamp the first step with Pear Pizzazz and then the Garden Green after it has been stamped off first.

    Happy Birthday:  Soft Suede

I stamped a flower in the inside of my card along with my envelope.

This stamp set will not be available for purchase until September 1, 2017.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to get a catalog, please let me know.  I will be happy to send you one.

Daisy Delight with Happy Birthday Thinlit

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Daisy Punch #143713, Delightful Daisy DSP #144137, 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon- Daffodil Delight #144416, Faceted Gems #144141, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I was looking outside my window yesterday and was a little sad that our daisy's are finished blooming for the year.  We have a stray one here and there, but that's it.  This card was made with no stamp set or ink.  I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits and the Daisy Punch along with cardstock and the beautiful Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  Did you see the ribbon?  It is called double stitched ribbon which means there are "x" on one side and the other side looks like stitching.

This is the ribbon I like so much that I have order 6 spools of it.  LOL Whenever I was placing an order at the beginning of the catalog launch I would add it on to my order.  I did that 3 times!  What is really sad is that I only have 2 left.  I guess I really do like it.

To make this card you need the following materials:

Night of Navy Cardstock #100867

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the Happy Birthday
  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 3/4 x 5" to punch out the flowers
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for this inside of the card

Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper #144137

  • cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

To make the Happy Birthday easier to stick down I used our new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  I was so excited when I saw them return in the annual catalog.  If you haven't tried them, you will love them once you do.  I had some left from when we use to sell them, but I have to admit I was hoarding them.  LOL  Now I can buy more!

I punched out 2 of the daisy flowers and staggered them to give it a fuller look, which I like.  For the center of the flower I used the Faceted Gems in gold (I used the largest sized one).  I attached my ribbon first and then added my daisy, but I laid my daisy down where I wanted it for a guide of where to put my ribbon.  The daisy is adhered using a dimensional to give it height and to go over the ribbon.

This is a fun and easy card to make for a birthday, especially a summer birthday.

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

It was a busy weekend at our house.  On Friday, for two of my angels, it was their last day with me taking care of them.  I have to say, this is the hardest part of my job.  I love these children so much and when they leave it breaks my heart.  Heck, I am crying while I am typing this and its been three days.  I know they will do great, but it is still hard.  I think the hardest part is, they won't remember me because they are 3 and 4 years old.  Can you remember anything when you were that age?

On Saturday I went to Stamp Away (it is a convention of different companies selling all things to do with paper crafting) with my best friend Robin.  We both wanted to go to the Stamp n Storage booth.  If you are in need of storage for your crafting supplies, I highly highly recommend them.  Click HERE for their website.  The two of us definitely bought out share of things from them.  I can always find places to add more pieces to what I already have.

When we got home Mr. Wonderful and I went looking at countertops for the kitchen and carpet for our upstairs.  We are slowly trying to update our house (which is 18 years old) and are almost finished with the upstairs.  We decided on our countertops!  Yay! They have been ordered and hopefully they will be here in about 4 weeks.  Now, time to really starting to look at carpet.

I hope you had a terrific weekend and have a marvelous Monday! Today is the beginning of a new week, make it special!

Colorful Seasons Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons stamp set #143726, Seasonal Layers Thinlits #143751, designed and created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Don't you want to be sitting on this chair, relaxing and enjoying a beverage of your choice.  I know I sure would!   This card reminds me of summer, relaxing and the beach.  Does it get any better than that?

I wanted to do a card that was bright and cheery so I used the bright colors of Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  I also used the Colorful Seasons and High Tide stamp sets.  From the High Tide stamp set I used the sand stamp with Crumb Cake ink.  The rest is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  Did you notice the glass is two different colors?  To do this, I used our Stampin Markers.  Color each section with your marker (I used the big end of the marker) and then huff on the stamp.  The reason to huff on it is the ink your colored first was drying while you were coloring the other section on it.  To make sure you get a good image when you stamp you need to huff on the stamp to moisten the ink.

To make this card you will need the following:

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Tempting Turquoise Cardstock #102067

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

Did you notice how the flowers on the branches and the chair and seat fit perfectly.  Isn't it wonderful!  Thank you Stampin' Up! for that.   There are so many color combinations you could use with these stamps.  The flowers, you could change with the seasons and Stampin' Up! has them all in a collection for you.  Subtles in the Spring, Brights in the Summer and Regals in the Fall.  What colors are you going to put together.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Sunday!

Country Livin' Card for Erica

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Country Livin' stamp set #141925, Hardwood stamp set #133035, Layering Oval Framelits #141706, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more card, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Every time our girls leave to go back to Texas, college or now Michigan, I always make a card and hide it in their stuff.  I didn't think they really cared about them, but I was told they look forward to them.  I guess I will keep on making them.  It sure does make a momma feel good that they look for my cards while unpacking.  This is the card that I made for Erica when she moved to Michigan yesterday.  Boy was that hard!

Erica loves her cowboy boots, jeans and t-shirts, so this set was perfect for her.  I decided to go with the blue color, because she really doesn't like the color pink.  This card could definitely be used as a masculine card too.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Soft Sky Cardstock #131203

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Smoky Slate Cardstock #131202

  • cut at 3" x 5"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" this is for the inside of the card

Watercolor Paper #122959

  • cut at 3" x 5"

I used the Smoky Slate ink to stamp the woodgrain background onto the the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Soft Sky paper.  I adhered that piece to the card base using the Snail Adhesive and used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the Smoky Slate oval.

I used the colors of Soft Suede, Soft Sky and Dapper Denim to watercolor the boots.  I started with the Soft Sky ink all over the boots making the edges a little bit darker than the center.  I then added the Dapper Denim in so I could darken the creases and natural shading.  The straps and soles were done with the Soft Suede ink.   Then I lightly used the Smoky Slate ink to add a shadow underneath the boot and Soft Suede for the dirt lines at the back of the boot. Here is a close up picture of the boots, so you can see the shading better.

This was a fun card and sad card to make all at the same time.  On one hand it was a fun card because I love to watercolor, but on the other hand it was a sad card.  Erica began the next chapter in her life yesterday by moving far away.  I know she will do great and she is around all of my family, but I still miss her.  I know this is what we are suppose to do, but, Man, it is hard!

My preorder came yesterday and OH MY GOODNESS!  You are going to love the new holiday catalog.  I can't wait to get into my goodies, but first I get to have fun at my Christmas Card Class tonight.  I love these classes!

Don't forget if you earned your Bonus Days Coupons in July to use them this month, you have until August 31st.  I used mine this morning on my preorder, it was so nice to have the them.

Eastern Palace Thank You

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Eastern Beauty stamp set #143675, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP #144147, Eastern Medallions Thinlits #143725. created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

There are so many different looks you can get with the Eastern Medallions, this is just one of them.  I paired this with the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper and the Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock #140272

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
  • scrap for 1 3/8" circle

Dapper Denim Cardstock #141414

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • scrap for 1 1/2" circle

Eastern Palace Speciality Designer Series Paper #144147

  • cut at 1" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 3" x 4"
  • cut at 3" x 3"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" for the circle

When you go to cut the white piece of paper with the medallions you can cut everything at one time, using all three framelits.  I used two from the Eastern Medallions and the largest circle from the Layering Circle Framelits.  See picture below.

Fullsizeoutput_1248

To adhere the piece you cut I put adhesive on the center only.  All the circles are adhered together with snail adhesive and then I used a dimensional  to adhere it to the card front.

The sentiment is stamped using Lemon Lime Twist ink and cutting it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I love these framelits.  They really add a lot to your projects. I used the 1 1/2" circle punch to punch out the Dapper Denim circle.  I also used the Triple Banner Punch for the banner made from the Eastern Palace DSP.

I have a lot of exciting news to share with everyone!  I am not sure where to start.  This has been an exciting week, but also an emotional one.  Lets start with the good news.

Last week I received an email from Split Coast Stampers (this is an awesome website for inspiration, tutorials and more) asking if I would like to be part of their Creative Crew.  When they are looking for people to be on this crew they look at the post you have put on their website and your blog.  I am very honored that they thought my creations were good enough to be on their crew.  I found yesterday that one of my good friends from Iowa is also going to be on the Creative Crew.  We are going to have so much fun!

I will be participating from September through the end of December. I will be posting my creations here, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

I would like to welcome Brittany and Carol to my team, the Joyful Butterflies!  I am so excited they have chosen me to be their upline. They are going to love being a part of the Stanpin' Up! family!

My emotions have been going a little crazy this past week and especially this weekend.  Erica is getting everything packed as she is moving to Michigan on Thursday.  I got believe we are going to be empty nesters.  I know we are suppose to raise them to be independent, intelligent, hardworking, kind, loving adults, but I really wish we wouldn't have done our job so well. I told both of the girls, could you have not picked any further away from each other.   Emily lives Texas and Erica will be in Michigan.  I told Mr. Wonderful that we need to move to Tennessee that way we would be in the middle.  LOL

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope everyone has a spectacular Sunday!

Bright Wishes

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Bright wishes #143827, Watercolor Pencils #141709, Blender Pens #102845, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I have to start by saying I must really like the card I posted yesterday. I realized last night that I also posted it in June.  Oh my goodness, I am not sure what happened there.  I have a pile of cards on my desk to put on my blog and some how that card was put in the wrong pile. Lately, that is how my life is going.  LOL

I love to color so when I saw the Bright Wishes stamp set I knew I wanted it.  The sentiments in this stamp set are perfect for wishing people the best, wishes coming true, brighter days, how much you care and you're never too old to wish.

I used the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to color this card.  I ended up coloring quite a few of these using different colors for the flowers.  It is amazing how changing colors can totally change the look of a card.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Berry Burst Cardstock #144243

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Old Olive Cardstock #100702

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"

What colors would you use for your flowers?

CoffeeandChatStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman2

Since we got back from Texas, life has been even busier.  I thought life was going to slow down, boy was I wrong.  While we were away, Erica made the decision to move to Michigan to be around my family. I will admit, I am a little jealous.  She will be living with my niece, which is great, so she can help her out with expenses.

We have been going through Erica's things trying to figure out what to take, what to leave home and what to get rid of.  You don't realize how much stuff you have until you start going through things.  I hate to see when I have to go through my craft room.  LOL

Erica is going to Michigan today for a job interview tomorrow.  If you get a chance, can you please say a little prayer for her.  I know she will do great.

I told my girls could they possibly get any further apart?  Emily is in Texas and now Erica will be in Michigan.   Mark and I will have to get use to being empty nesters.  Our house is going to be so quiet.

Mark and I are also going to start going through each room in the house as if we are downsizing and have to get rid of things.   Emily was telling me that she was reading an article about decluttering and you need to ask yourself two questions.  Does the item bring you joy and if it was in a store today, would you buy it?  Great questions!  I think I am going to be getting rid of a lot of stuff.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a terrific Thursday!

Jar of Love Sympathy Workshop Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Jar of Love #141587, Rose Wonder #140697, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I had a workshop for one of customers and she wanted me to use the Jar of Love stamp set.  She also told me she needed a sympathy card so if I could combine the two she would love it.  So I created a card using the Jar of Love stamp set along with Rose Wonder.  She loved it!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Night of Navy Cardstock #100867

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Pool Party Cardstock #122924

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"

Wild Wasabi Cardstock #108641

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"

The flowers were stamped with Marina Mist and Night of Navy ink. When you stamp the water in the jar, I first stamped it off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped my card.  The sentiment was stamped with the Night of Navy ink also.

Below is a picture of the inside of the card.  I also stamped the flowers on the envelope to match.

A Little Wild Baby Card

stampin up, Stampin Up! A Little Wild stamp set #144344, Little Loves Framelits #143743, Ruffled 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #143699, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I needed to make two baby cards, one for my niece and one for one of my customers, who is also a good friend of mine.  Patty, my niece had a little boy and Brittany had a little girl.  I was a little late getting these out, the babies were already a month old, because I was waiting for this stamp set to come.  The minute I saw this stamp set, I knew I wanted to get it.

I was on Pinterest and saw this lay out created by Nadine's Stampin Club and fell in love.  I loved it so much, I made 3 different cards using the same layout.  You can see all three at the bottom of this post.

One thing I like about this stamp set is you can use it for other things besides a baby card.  You could use it for an older child, someone who loved elephants (like my daughter, Emily), lions or bears.  You can also use them for other occasions.

At OnStage in April there was a presentation done using this stamp set and they wrote the following quotes on the inside of the card. Elephant - I am a little behind.  Happy Belated Birthday   Bear - please come back and stamp with me again  Lion - thanks for having my back.  Don't you just love them!

To make this card you will need the following products:

Chocolate Chip Cardstock #102128

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 1" x 3 1/8"

So Saffron Cardstock #105118

  • cut at 3 1/8" x 4 3/8"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • cut at 2" x 4"

I used the Ruffles 3D Embossing Folder on the So Saffron cardstock. One thing you need to do with the paper when you use the 3D embossing folders is spritz it with water.  You want to dampen the fibers of your paper, it will give it a better impression.

I stamped my image with Chocolate Chip ink and then used the Watercolor Pencils to color in my image. To get the blended in look I used the Blender Pens.  Below is a picture of the bear so you can see it better on how I did the coloring.

This is the inside of the card.  Did you notice the back of the bear on the left hand side.  In this stamp set your bears are connected, the front and back images, so you have to cut them apart.  There is matching framelits, Little Love, and you can get it as a bundle and save 10%.

I used the back on the inside of the card.  I stamped the bee hive and bees on the card and on the envelope.

We had a wonderful time in Texas.  We got her all moved into her new apartment.  Oh my goodness, it is so beautiful.  I love all the natural light she gets from all of the windows.  Her pool area looks like it is at a resort.

While we were there, we also got to do some fun things.  One day we went to the Houston Zoo, which was so nice.  Emily, Erica and myself got to feed the giraffes.  I loved it!  They are so graceful and gentle when they take the lettuce out of your hand.  Below is a picture of the tiger I took.  Look how beautiful his eyes are.

This is a picture of one of the giraffes that we were feeding.  Mark has a video of us feeding them, but I forgot to get it from him.

Heartland Card Using Glossy Paper

stampin up, Stampin' Up Heartland stamp set #143892, Glossy Paper #144240, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

When I heard that Stampin' Up! was bringing back the Glossy White Paper I was so happy.  I found out the great news when I opened my box for being an OnStage Display Stamper.  I also got the Heartland stamp set, which used on this card.  I used the brayer to put the ink on it to give it a blended look.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Cardstock #119686

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Glossy White Cardstock #144240

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

The first thing I did was punch out a 1 1/4" circle out of a piece of scrap paper and put a little bit of snail on the back of it.  Keep the piece of paper you punch your circle out of.  We are going to use it a little bit later.  I then tapped the adhesive on the back of the circle with my finger to get some of the stickiness off the adhesive.  Then I put it where I wanted the sun to be on the glossy paper.

I used our Sponge Brayers to put the color on the paper.  I started with the Soft Sky ink on the top to about the middle of the paper. You can just roll over the 1 1/4" circle you adhered previously.  I then added the Pear Pizzazz ink and I went down to about an inch from the bottom.  I finished it out with the Chocolate Chip ink on the bottom.  Remember you can always add ink to your projects, but you can't take it away.  Start out light and then gradually add more ink to you get the color you want.

Remove the circle and place the scrap piece of paper you have from cutting out the circle.   Take a Sponge Dauber and use the Daffodil Delight ink and fill in the sun.  I stamped the barn and the sentiment with our Basic Black Archival Ink.

This week we are in Texas helping Emily move into her new apartment and enjoying the Houston area..   I am so excited to see her again.  It will be very hard to say goodbye after seeing her for 3 weeks.  Emily was home for two weeks in June and then went back to Texas last Monday and now we are visiting her in Texas.  I sure miss having her around.  Our house is going to be so quiet when we get back.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a great day!
