I have to tell you a little story before I tell you about the above cards.  I made the first card, the one with the designer series paper on the bottom, first and showed it to Mr. Wonderful.  He told me he liked it, but thought it would look better with the patterned paper on the top.  I told him I didn't think so, but I would make one so he could see the difference.  I finished them, showed them to him and guess what?  He agreed it should be on the bottom.  LOL  I like both of the cards, but I do think the one with the designer series paper on the bottom looks better.  What do you think?

I told him that I was going to put this on my blog and I was going to make sure everyone knew I was right about the card.  He just laughed and said, but you call me Mr. Wonderful, so they already think I am wonderful.  Oh my goodness!

Our inspiration card this week is:

34318336_10213553010434011_6052784169145073664_n

With the new holiday catalog coming soon, I wanted to use a stamp set that I hadn't used very often from the new catalog.  So, I went looking at my stamp sets and remembered I bought the Stitched All Around stamp set because I loved the framelits, Stitched Labels that went along with it.   This stamp set and framelits are available as a bundle, which means you save 10% when purchased together.  Why, I haven't used them very often, I have no idea!  I wanted to use one of the new designer series papers that I ordered from the promotion Stampin' Up! had last month.  I decided on the Tranquil Textures because I loved how the one side had all the circles and then there was a beautiful blue paper on the other side.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Stitched All Around stamp set #146632, Stitched Labels Framelits #146828, Stitched All Around Bundle #148374, Tranquil Textures designer series paper #146331, Basic Pearls #144219, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Night of Navy

  • cut at 5 1/2" x8 1/2"

Mint Macaron

  • cut at 3/4" x 7 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"

On the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" designer series paper you are going to cut it from corner to opposite corner.  This is going to give you two pieces, so you can make two cards.  You will attach the Mint Macaron paper to the edge of the piece you just cut.  Adhere both of them to the Night of Navy cardstock.  Line up the designer series paper with the edges of the Night of Navy cardstock.  You will need to trim your edges.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! I stamped the sentiments using Fresh Fig ink on to the blue side of the patterned paper.  I then used a framelit to cut out the sentiment and attached it with Stampin Dimensionals.  I thought the card needed a little bit more, so I added three pearls onto the sentiment piece.  The pearls really did make a difference in the final look of the card.

In only 25 more days, Erica will be moving home and boy, do we have a lot to do.  When she moved to Michigan, we kinda, changed her room.  Ok, we took her room and changed it into Mark's office.  Now, that she is moving back, we have to change a couple of the other bedrooms around to make an office for Mark.  So, in the end we will have Mark's office, Erica's room, master bedroom and guest bedroom (aka Emily's room when she visits).  While we are changing everything around, we are also going through everything and getting rid of things we haven't touched in years.  I can't believe how much stuff we have in our house.

I can remember when we moved into this house 19 years ago, time sure has flown, looking around thinking, how are we going to put furniture in this whole house.  Now, I am thinking we have too much stuff in this house.  I will have to admit, I have taken over the basement as my crafting studio and I have a lot of things for my daycare.   So, if you take those two things out, there isn't quite so much.  I know, I am trying to justify it, but it really isn't working.  LOL

I can see a lot of Goodwill trips in the next couple of weeks.  It will be nice to get a lot of this stuff out of here though.  I did tell Mark that he is not allowed to touch my stampin studio though.  I will do that myself.  I would hate to see what he would throw out.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are having a wonderful week!

I took advantage of the awesome designer series special that Stampin' Up! is having until 11:59pm tonight.  One of the designer series papers I bought was the Twinkle, Twinkle pack.  When I was looking at all the different designs of the paper, I came across the one I used on the card above.  My eyes were drawn immediately to it.  I love the strips and the colors.

Our inspiration this week is pictured below.

34308089_10213552975713143_6585709895985659904_n

I kept the overall layout the same this week.  On the card above they used the Colored doilies, but since I didn't have them I used the Pearlized Doilies.  I haven't used doilies much, not sure why, but I really liked them on this card.  I think I am going to have to start using them more.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Enjoy Life stamp set #148190, Daisy Punch #143713, 2" Circle Punch #133782, 2 1/4" Circle Punch #143720, 1/2" Circle Punch #119869, Pearlized Doilies #146936. StampinUpEnjoyLifeCASEingTuesday158StampinScrapperJoyceWhitman5

I used all of the colors in the designer series paper to create all the different elements of this card.  I then stamped three little butterflies in Pool Party and the sentiment with Night of Navy ink.  To finish the project I added Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (Petal Pink ones) around the sentiment and added Wink of Stella to the center of the daisy.

I have a tip for you: remember when you are designing your card to always do so in odd numbers.  Three butterflies, three pearls and one flower.

Coffee Cafe Card (CT#157)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe stamp set #143677, Coffee Cups Framelits #143745, Banner Triple Punch #138292, Detailed Trio Punch #146320, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I need to first start this blog post off with an apology.  I try very hard to have my post online by 8:00am at the latest on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.  Today, however, it is not getting post until a lot later.  I have been trying to play catch up since we got back from Disney on the 14th of July.  We then had to go out of town over the weekend for a wedding that Emily was in, which meant I got nothing done over the weekend.  Yesterday was Emily's last day here before leaving for Texas very, very early this morning.  I wanted to spend as much time as possible with her, since we won't see her again until Thanksgiving.

So, needless to say, I haven't been on top of my postings as I usually am.  I will be working very hard this week to get back on track and get ready for my three classes this week.  All I can say is I am so glad I have my best friend, Robin, to help me get everything done.  I don't think I would be able to do it with out her this week.

Now, on to today's post.  We are going to be making the above card at my Stamp Camp classes this week.  Every month I pick a stamp set to feature and this month it is the Coffee Cafe stamp set with coordinating framelits, Coffee Cups.   I used the CASEing Tuesday card, pictured below, for my inspiration.

34481522_10213552925431886_7539142449004806144_n

I have the same layout as the above card, but I used a different stamp set and the Share What You Love designer series paper.

To make this project you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Black

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • scraps for the lids of the cups

Grapefruit Grove

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 5 1/5" for the coffee cups
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside
  • scrap for the beans

Share What You Love Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 2" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2"

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe stamp set #143677, Coffee Cups Framelits #143745, Banner Triple Punch #138292, Detailed Trio Punch #146320, CASEing Tuesday, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I used the new Detailed Trio punch for the corners on the Grapefruit Grove cardstock and the Banner Triple Punch on the designer series paper.  For the banner punch you will want to cut your paper just a hair under 2" to fit into the punch.

I used snail on everything, except the Grapefruit Grove cardstock that is adhered using the Stampin Dimensionals.

I am going to make this a short post so I can get this out to all of you.  Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you are having a great day!

Daisy Delight Thank You (CT#156)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Daisy Punch #143713, Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper #146902, CASEing Tuesday #156, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Today I made this card on Stampin' Up! notecards instead of the normal size card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").   I wanted to make my card for CASEing Tuesday as my thank you cards for orders this month.  On our inspiration card this week, was made with the Animal Expedition designer series paper.  I wanted to use the same paper, but I wanted a total different look.  I made this card girlie with the pink and green paper in the same pack and the daisy punch.

Here is a picture of our inspiration card:

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight stamp set #143669, Daisy Punch #143713, Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper #146902, CASEing Tuesday #156, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Stampin' Up! Notecards and Envelopes in Whisper White

Cardstock:

Berry Burst

  • cut at 2 3/4" x 5 1/2"

Lemon Lime Twist

  • scrap piece for 1/2" circle

Whisper White

  • cut at 2" x 4"

Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • cut at 1/2" x 3 1/8"
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 5"

I stamped the Thank You in the Basic Gray ink and the leaves I used the Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Both of the stamps are from the Daisy Delight stamp set.  I used the bone folder to curl the edges of the daisy and then put a Stampin' Dimensional underneath to raise it up off the card.  To finish off the flower I added Wink of Stella to the Lemon Lime Twist circle in the middle of the flower.

The two pieces of designer series paper I cut the ends to make them look like banners.  The edge of the top banner lines up with the middle of the bottom banner.  Then the white paper is lined up with the center of the gray designer series paper piece.

The Animal Expedition designer series paper is part of the Buy 3 get 1 FREE promotion going on until July 31st.  See all the details at the end of this post.

I did it!  I unplugged for a whole week and I have to say, it was wonderful.  I was able to truly enjoy our time together and enjoy the magic of Disney World.  I have to say, we had such a wonderful time.  We laughed, made great memories, enjoyed each other and were so blessed during the whole vacation.  God gave us so many blessing through out the week, that I couldn't possibly name all of them.

Here are a couple of pictures from the beginning of our trip.  The first one is of Mark, Emily and myself on the plane heading to Disney.

This picture is of the girls trying on hats in our resort gift shop and then of all of us on our first day at the parks, Magic Kingdom.

We are all so blessed to be a part of each other lives and to be able to call each other family.  I love all of them so much.  For those who don't know, these are my angels we call our Grand Randall's.  People think that Todd is my son, which is funny because I would have had to have him when I was 14 years old.  LOL We love them as if they were our own children, their children are our grandkids.  Our girls call Todd their brother and Kumiko their sister and they do the same to our girls.  Emily and Erica always said they wanted a brother, now they have one.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great week!

Rooted In Nature and Flourishing Phrases CT#155

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Rooted In Nature stamp set #146482, Flourishing Phrases stamp set #141534, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinsraper.com, Joyce Whitman

I had to make another sympathy card for one of my aunts as my uncle passed away unexpectedly.  I don't like having to make these type of cards,  I don't think anyone does, but when I do I try to make them as a reflection of the person who passed.  My aunt and uncle were suppose to go spend the weekend at the campground with all of their family, but God had different plans for them.   They spent the weekend together, just not in the place they thought they would.

For this card I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and used the sentiment in the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  As I was making this card, I kept thinking of my uncles smile and laugh.  I will always remember that about him.  Great memories!

Here is my inspiration card for this weeks CASEing Tuesday

34199907_10213552857790195_6254417666623143936_n

The card I made this week is an easy design that you could make for any occasion.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Crumb Cake

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Very Vanilla

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" for the trees
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Rooted In Nature stamp set #146482, Flourishing Phrases stamp set #141534, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinsraper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make the trees I used 3 of our  Stampin Write Markers.  I first inked the trees with the Shaded Spruce marker and then dabbed the tip of the Mossy Meadow marker randomly on top of the Shaded Spruce ink.  The trunks of the trees were colored with the Early Espresso marker.  A tip I have for you is when you use markers to color your stamps, make sure you huff on your stamp before you stamp your image on your paper.  You need to make sure your ink hasn't dried on your stamp as it takes longer to color them with markers than an ink pad.

On the Crumb Cake card base I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the leaf images.  I was trying to figure out what to use to make the grass on the bottom and then remembered there was a grass stamp in the Enjoy Life stamp set.  I used the Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the grass.  To decorate my envelope I stamped one of the trees on the bottom left hand corner.

I hope I don't have to make another sympathy cards for a while.  2 in a month is more than enough.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Healing Hugs (CT#154)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs stamp set #146530, Touches of Texture stamp set #143251, Decorative Ribbon Border Punch #143721, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

One of my team members, Patti, celebrated her Stampin' Up! anniversary last month and I know she loves the color purple.  I wanted a beautiful card to let her know how blessed I am to have her on my Joyful Butterflies team and to wish her a Happy Anniversary.

The Healing Hugs stamp set is one of the DistINKtive stamps in the annual catalog.  What's unique about the DistINKtive stamps is they are totally flat. You get this beautiful detail from them, just stamping the way you do with all of our other stamps.  The above picture shows the detail of the stamp.  I wish the picture would show how beautiful it looks in person.  I know you would love it even more if you saw it in person.

The CASEing Tuesday card this week was a perfect layout for this card.  Here is our inspiration card:

34319470_10213552813549089_2309122328413339648_n

On the base of the card, Highland Heather cardstock, I used an image from the Touches of Texture stamp set and stamped it with the Gorgeous Grape ink.  For the border on the left hand side of the Whisper White paper I punched out a strip of the Gorgeous Grape paper with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  I then used the Tufted Embossing Folder on the Whisper White paper and added a thin strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

I stamped the flower with the Highland Heather ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink.  I added Wink of Stella to the flower and 3 large Rhinestones to give the card a little bit of bling.  Patty loves bling, so I wanted to make sure I got it on the card somewhere.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Highland Heather

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"  score at 4 1/4"

Gorgeous Grape

  • cut at 1" x 5"
  • cut at 1/2" x 3"

Whisper White

  • cut at 3" x 5" for front of card
  • cut at 2 1/2 x 6" for the flower and leaves
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

On the inside of the card and on the envelope I stamped a flower.  Remember, never send out a naked card.  LOL

Over the weekend I didn't get a chance to post the pictures of Countdown Minnie, so here are the ones we have as of yesterday.  Time is going so fast and I have so much to get down before we leave.  Why is it, you work twice as hard before you leave for vacation and twice as hard when you get back?

CountdowntoDisneyStampinScrapperJoyceWhitmanCollage

The kids are having so much fun coming in each day to see where Minnie is and what her note says to them.  Emily has been such a blessing in all of this, as she has been doing all of the work,  I am just taking the pictures.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a terrific week!

Over the weekend I needed to make three cards, an anniversary, a sympathy and a congratulations card.  I knew I had to do the next three weeks of CASEing Tuesday post before we left for Disney, so I made all of the cards to correspond with the inspiration cards.  I had so much fun taking the inspiration card and trying to figure out how to use them for the cards I needed.

This is my card for my downline, Renee, who promoted to Bronze Elite!  Congratulations Renee!!!  I am so blessed to have her as my friend and a member of my Joyful Butterflies team!   I will say that I used more products than I usually use, however, it didn't take me long to make it.  I really love how this card turned out.

The first thing I did was cut a piece of the designer series paper from Animal Expedition paper pack.  I used Copper Foil paper since I didn't have any bronze paper.  I put the square frame on with Foam Adhesive Strips and then attached everything else with Snail Adhesive.  The swirl is from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and the flowers are from the Pop of Petals stamp set with coordinating Four Petal Flower Punch.  This stamp set and punch are available as a bundle, which means you can save 10% if you purchase them together.

Here is a picture to show you a little better of how I attached everything.

The sentiment I stamped with Blackberry Bliss from the Stitched All Around stamp set and punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch.

To make the square frame I used two different square frames.  The biggest square frame from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and one from the Layering Square Framelits that fit inside of the first square.  I cut both of them at the same time, so it was very easy to make.  See picture below.

Every month a group of my friends from church get together and celebrate the people who have a birthday that month.  This month we are celebrating my friend Peggy's birthday and the bright Pineapple Punch 2018-2020 In Color reminded me of her.  She is always so cheerful and bubbly just the way this paper makes me feel.  How can you not be cheerful when you have the color of sunshine in your stampin studio?

Along with the card I created a little box to hold a birthday cupcake candle that I found at the dollar store.  I thought they were so adorable I bought every one they had.  I love having little gifts on hand when I need something in a hurry.

Our inspiration card this month was a great jumping point for me today.

I love the layout of this card.  I did the same layout, just used different stamp sets.  I also did some stamping right on the piece of Whisper White cardstock and other places I stamped the image and punched it out with coordinating punches. The Pop of Petals stamp set and Four Petal Flower Punch is available as a bundle, which means you can save 10% when you use the item #148385 (you have to use the bundle item number to get the discount).

I also used the Leaf Punch with Granny Apple Green cardstock for the leaves and the Classic Label Punch for the sentiment.  I am not sure if you can see the  edging on the bottom right hand corner or not, but  I used the Decorative Ribbon Border punch to create it.  I kept going back and forth about what edge to use and finally decided to use the bottom edge.

To finish off the card I added the smallest Rhinestones on each end of the sentiment.  I also used the Rhinestones in the center of the flower that I put on the candle holder.

To make the card you will need the following products:

Cardstock:

Pineapple Punch

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Granny Apple Green

  • 1/2" x 2 1/2" for the sentiment
  • 1 3/4" x 4" for the leaves

Whisper White

  • cut at 3 1/2" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 2" x 6" for the flowers
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

On the card I adhered the 3 1/2" 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with Stampin Dimensionals.  I used snail adhesive on everything else except the top flower, where I used a Stampin Dimensional.  I decorated the inside of the card and the envelope by stamping one of the flowers in the bottom left hand corner of each of them.

Animal Outing (CT#151)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Animal Outing stamp set #146600, Animal Expedition designer series paper #146902, Leaf Ribbon #146905, Stampin Blends markers, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman
I must first apologize for the delay in blogging this last week.  I typed up my post for Thursday, everything was set to go and I went to save it and my post disappeared.  I totally lost it!  I couldn't believe it.  I didn't have time to redo the whole thing again as Robin and I were trying to get things done for my Catalog Launch party on Saturday.

I had ever intention on Saturday evening sitting down and writing a post about my party, but I was so tired that I couldn't even think straight.  Life has taken over my last two days and so, here I am a week later getting to a post.  I think when you look at my card for CASEing Tuesday this week, you will agree it was worth the wait.

Have you ever made a card and have fallen in love with it? I am that way with this card.  I love, love, love the Leaf Ribbon that goes with the Animal Expedition Suite.  It is so pretty and different from any ribbon we have had since I became a demonstrator.

Here is our inspiration card this week:

How cute is this rhinoceros?

I had so much fun coloring him with the Smoky Slate Stampin Blends markers.  I used the Old Olive for the grass and a combination of Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral for the bird.

Here are the measurements of the paper I used on this card:

Cardstock:

Smoky Slate

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Basic Gray

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4"

Whisper White

  • 3 1/8" x 3 7/8"
  • 4" x 5 1/4"
  • scrap for 1 1//4" circle

Call Me Clover

  • scrap for 1 3/8" scalloped circle

Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper

When I first laid my ribbon on this card I was trying to figure out what was the best way to adhere this to the card. I tried different types of glue, but came to the realization that Glue Dots worked perfect!  I adhered them to the leaves and then laid it right where I wanted it on the card.  This ribbon is so awesome!  I hope Stampin' Up! makes more ribbon like this in the future!

This time I stamped the image on the back of my envelope.  I think I am going to have to do that more often.  I also stamped the same image on the inside of my card.  I wasn't sure about not coloring the images on the envelope and inside the card.  What do you think?  Would you color or leave it as is?

I sure hopes my friend likes her thank you note, I sure do!

I wanted to share with you some of the pictures I took of my set up for my open house.  I always forget to take pictures when people are here.  I get so interested in spending time with them, that I don't think of taking pictures.

Rooted In Nature and Giveaway! (CT#150)

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Rooted In Nature stamp set #146482, Garden Impressions designer series paper #146289, Leaves Trinkets #146343, Burlap Ribbon #141487 created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To help celebrate our 150th card, we are having a giveaway!!!

Check out all the details on our CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group.

It is so fun to use new stamps to create projects with!  Today on CASEing Tuesday we are using a beautiful card on page 142 in the new annual catalog as our inspiration.

34396153_10213552404018851_1789882222803681280_n

I used the Rooted In Nature stamp set along with the gorgeous Garden Impressions designer series paper on my card today.   Since I wanted two different colors on my tree, I used the Stampin Write markers to ink up my stamp.  I wanted two colors on the leaves of the tree so I first colored it all over with Old Olive and then dabbed Shaded Spruce, with the wide end of the marker, randomly over the tree.  For the tree trunk I used the Early Espresso marker.  When you use a marker to ink up your stamp  you need to huff on it before you stamp your project.  This will help the ink stay wet so you will get a clean stamped image.

To make this project you need the following products:

Cardstock:

Early Espresso

  • cut at 5 1/2" 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Whisper White

  • cut 4" x 5 1/4"

Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5"
  • cut at 3 5/8" x 4 3/4"

I used the Burlap Ribbon to make my banner on the top and added one of the leaves from the Leaves Trinkets embellishments.  I have to say, these are my favorite embellishments in the catalog.
