What do you think of the purple and gold colors?  I never really think of purple as a color for the holidays, but our theme was Winter Wonderland for the SCS Creative Crew this month.  We were given 4 pictures to get inspiration from and one of them had a purplish tint to it.  It caught my eye right away.  See it below

Winter wonderland 2

Isn't this picture so peaceful, bright, calming and elegant all at the same time.  I could picture myself sitting on a bench sipping coffee or hot chocolate and letting the worries of the day fall away.   This picture got me thinking about how could I make a card, that was a creative fold and with a winter wonderland theme.

The first thing I did was go to my designer series paper and see if anything jumped out at me.  It didn't take me long to find the Year of Cheer DSP with the snowflakes in gold and silver all over it.  I knew then I could really put any color with the paper, but I wanted to tie in the color from the picture.  I found the Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant to be a perfect combination.

I then remembered I had made a double front fold card before and loved it.  If you missed it, click HERE to see it.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper #144640

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 6 1/4 score at 2"

Elegant Eggplant Cardstock #105126

  • cut 2 at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 3/4" x 7 1/2" score at 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

I stamped a sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set on the smallest piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Wisteria Wonder ink.   Then I stamped a snowflake from the Snowflake Sentiments for the inside of the card and my envelope with Elegant Eggplant ink.

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up Colorful Seasons stamp set #143276, Snowflake Sentiments stamp set #144820, Foil Snowflakes #144642, Year of Cheer DSP #144640, Trim Your Stocking Thinlits #144682, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I attached the Wisteria Wonder cardstock to the Year of Cheer DSP , making sure I was close to the fold line, but not too close.  If you put the Wisteria Wonder paper right on the line, the flap of them DSP will not lay nice.  I would try it first before you put your adhesive on it so you know exactly where you want to put it.

You will then attach one of the Elegant Eggplant  pieces on top of the large Wisteria Wonder piece of paper, making sure it is centered.  Attach the white piece of paper with the sentiment on it to this piece.  See the pictures below for a visual of what I am talking about.

You will then put the other piece of Elegant Eggplant paper on the top attaching it to the DSP paper.  REMINDER, only put adhesive on the left hand side of this paper.  Line up your two pieces and then press down.  You want to make sure they are even, they are suppose to look like they are connected.

I embellished the front with the Foil Snowflake and a snowflake cut from the Trim Your Stocking thinlits using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.   Thank you for stopping by today.

When I made this card for my Creative Fold Class I knew I wanted to also use it for my birthday swap at OnStage.  This is a unique fold that I hadn't seen before.  I can't remember where I saw it, but I love it.

The requirements for this swap was we had to use current product, had to have 2 layers and 2 embellishments.  You can definitely see my washi tape, but maybe not my other embellishment.  If you look real close you will see Wink of Stella on the ice cream cone.

You will need the following products to make this card:

Peekaboo Peach Cardstock #141417

  • cut at 7 1/8" x 8"
  • scraps for the ice cream cone
  • score on the 8" side at  2" and 6"
  • score on the 7 1/8" side at 2 3/8" and at 4 3/4" but ONLY from the edge to the first score line *

Watermelon Wonder Cardstock #138334

  • cut 4 at 1 3/4" x 2"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/8" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 4 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 1 7/8" x 1 1/2"
  • cut at 3" x 3 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Tasty Treats Speciality Designer Series Paper #142770

  • cut 2 at 1 7/8" x 1 1/2"
  • cut 2 at 1 7/8" x 3 1/2"

You will also need scraps of the following colors for the ice cream cones:

  • Crumb Cake #120953
  • Early Espresso #119686
  • Pool Party #122924

*** in the picture below you can see why you only score up to the score line and not all the way.  You will then cut out the sections that you see in the picture below with your scissors.

Cool Treats stamp set #142982, Tin of Cards stamp set #138946, Tasty Treats Speciality DSP #142770, Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape #142773, Frozen Treats Framelits #142756, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Fold on all your score lines, burnish them with your bone folder and adhere the pieces of Watermelon Wonder cardstock to the Peekaboo Peach.  Add your stamped pieces and designer series paper to the Watermelon Wonder sections.

To the front piece I added Washi Tape and an ice cream cone cut out using the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.  I added Wink of Stella to the bottom edges of all the ice cream scoops and to all of the chocolate.  I however, did not add it to the ice cream cone inside of the card.

Today is the day of Stampin' Up! OnStage event!!!!  I can't wait to see the new catalog! I wonder what the new colors are?  Did they add more punches?  What new stamp sets are there?  Oh My Goodness!  I can't wait to share it with all of you!

Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful Saturday and weekend.

Blooms & Bliss Collar Fold Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up Tin of Cards stamp set #138946, Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper #141654, Botanical Builder Framelits #140625, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Isn't this a fun creative fold card?  This fold is called Collar Fold or Peekaboo Pull Back Fold (I have found it called both names on Pinterest).  We made this card in my Creative Fold card class last month.   This card is actually quite easy to make.

You will need the following products:

Island Indigo Cardstock #122923

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"

Mint Macaron Cardstock #138337

  • cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Sahara Sand Cardstock #121043

  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card
  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" for the front of the card

Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper #141654

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

To make the folds in the designer series paper you will line up the 5 1/4" side at the 2 5/8" mark on your trimmer.  Cut down to the 1 1/2" mark, then take the corner of where you just cut and fold it back.

Make sure you have a point at the corners of your paper, this will make a crisp fold when you crease it.  Use your bone folder to make a crisp fold.  I taped down the flaps so they would lie down flat, but that is up to you.  I added Wink of Stella to the center of the Island Indigo flower.

Have a  wonderful Tuesday!

Window Shopping Creative Fold Card

stampin up, Stampin' Up Window Shopping stamp set #143265, Blossom Bunch Punch #140612, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, creative fold card, 2017 Occasions Catalog, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

Here is another fun creative fold card we made in my class.  This design is called the Double Z Fold.  When you look at the card from the top you can see the double Z.  See the picture below.

stampin up, Stampin' Up Window Shopping stamp set #143265, Blossom Bunch Punch #140612, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, creative fold card, 2017 Occasions Catalog, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

To make this card you will need the following products:

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" on long side
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" on long side
  • cut at 3" x 3 1/4"

Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper #142778

Flowers:

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 4"

Checkered Paper:

  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4"
  • cut 2 at 1 7/8" x 3 1/4"

The first thing is to adhere your designer series paper on to the two white pieces of paper.  Put adhesive on the back of the right hand section of the smaller white piece and adhere it to the biggest section of the flower paper towards the right side.  See picture above for placement.

Fold both sections so you can see where you will need to put the adhesive on the left hand side.  Remember only put adhesive on the section that is going to be attached to the big white piece.  You know how I know that, because I have put adhesive on the whole section, even after I tell myself not to do it.

Stamp the 3" x 3 3/4" piece of white paper with Mint Macaron ink towards the top.  You want to make sure you have room for your flowers.  I have also added flowers on the two the panels.  You can see them in the picture above.  I then added a medium sized rhinestone in the center of all the flowers.

I have had a few crazy days with designing my scrapbook pages for my Scrap Along class and working on my swaps for OnStage. I can say they are finished!!!  I am now busy working on my social media, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and this blog.  I am trying to get everything before I leave on Friday for OnStage.

Can I tell you I am so excited!   I can't wait to see Cathy, Carla, Kim, Beth and Lynn.  We are going to have so much fun.  I will be posting pictures on my Facebook page, Stampin Scrapper  and my Instagram during the weekend.  Click on the links in the previous sentence to see all of the pictures.

Thank you for stopping by and have a Marvelous Monday and week!

Double Front Fold Card with Avant Garden

Stamin Up, Stampin' Up! Avant Garden stamp set #143272, 2017 Sale-A-Bration, Double Front Card, Designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

By now I am sure you have realized just how much I love the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  I promise this is the last one. This card is called a double front card and is so easy to make.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Melon Mambo Cardstock #115320

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 6 1/4 score at 2"

Daffodil Delight Cardstock #119683

  • cut 2 at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 4 3/4" x 7 1/2" score at 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

The first thing I did was my stamping.  I did the flower for the front and then on the inside I used the birthday sentiment from the stamp set.  One the inside of the card in the lower left hand corner I stamped one flower image in the melon mambo.

I attached the white cardstock to the melon mambo, making sure I was close to the fold line, but not too close.  If you put the whisper white right on the line, the flap of them melon mambo will not lay nice.  I would try it first before you put your adhesive on it so you know exactly where you want to put it.

You will then attach one of the daffodil delight pieces on top of the large white piece of paper, making sure it is centered.  Attach the white piece with the birthday sentiment.

For this step you will want to make sure you attach the white piece with the flower on the daffodil delight and add the ribbon.  Here is a little tip for you.  When you put on your ribbon, you will want to make sure that the edges of your ribbon are on the left hand side of the yellow paper.  You want your ribbon to look nice on the back, because you can see a little of the back of the yellow paper. You can see what I mean in the picture below.  I then added my bow with a glue dot.  It gives it a nice finished look.

You want to make sure that your yellow pieces match up perfectly and then adhere.  PUT TAPE ONLY ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE.  You know how I know that, because I put tape on the whole thing out of habit many times.  You can see what I am trying to explain in the picture below.

Isn't this card so fun?  I love it!  The best part is that it is so easy to make.

Since last week was the beginning of Spring, I thought I would do a craft project with my girls.  Here is a picture of the flower garden they made.  They loved the punched flowers, using some retired products and the spring colors.

Hello on this wonderful Monday!  I have been working on my projects for my Scrap Along class on Saturday all weekend, that I totally forgot to do a blog post for today.  This card though is worth the wait!

On Friday night I had my Creative Fold Card Class,  it was such a fun class.  One of my customers from South Carolina was here for her daughter's baby shower and was able to join us.  It was so nice to have her here and catch up.

We made this card, called the Four Fold Card with the Avant Garden, Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets.  I am in love with this card.  I think I am going to be making one for my mom for her birthday next month.  She loves butterflies and flowers, so it will be perfect.

Here is a picture of what it looks like all opened up.

I have included each step with the products needed for this card.  I thought this might be an easier way to explain how to make the card. You will need the following products:

Elegant Eggplant Cardstock #105126

  • cut at 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" score at 1/4", 3 1/4" and 7 1/4" on the 11 1/2" side PLEASE NOTE THIS USES A PIECE OF 12 x 12 PAPER
  • turn your paper so the the 1/4" line you just scored is at the top of your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and score at 5/8" but ONLY to the last score line.  You don't want to score on the biggest section as this is where you will be adding additional layers and stamping.
  • trim off the little section that was created by this score line
  • accordion fold your paper so the biggest section is on the right hand side as in the picture above.
  • put a strong adhesive on the 1/4" piece (this piece should be your last fold and it should be laying on top on the left hand side)
  • cut a piece at 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
  • attach the above piece to the adhesive you put on the 1/4" section (this is going to create your first fold)
  • you will need to cut off the little 1/4" section that sticks up above the 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock
  • you will need scraps for the two butterflies

Wisteria Wonder Cardstock #122922

  • cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 4" - this is for the front panel
  • cut 2 at 3 1/4 x 4 3/4" - this is for panel 2 and 3
  • cut 1 at 4" x 5 1/4" - this is for the biggest panel

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut 2 at 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut 2 at 3" x 4 1/2"
  • cut 1 at 3 3/4" x 5"

You can stamp and decorate each panel as you wish.

I am almost positive you will see this type of card from me again.  It is so easy to make, but looks very impressive.  My kind of card!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

My final Merry Christmas Monday project.  I had a lot of fun designing projects to share with you for this beautiful holiday season.  This week I made a Gift Card Holder using the Father Christmas Stamp Set.  This holder looks like it was difficult to make, but in reality it is easy.  It is such a beautiful gift card holder, I love it!

To make this project you will need the following products:

Crumb Cake Card Stock # 120953

  • cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/2" x 9" score at 4 1/2"
  • scrap for 1 1/2" circle

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut 2 at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
  • scrap for 1 4/" circle

Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper # 141981

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"

stampin up, Stampin" Up! Father Christmas #132122, Peace This Christmas #141570, Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper #141981, 1/2" circle punch #119869, 1 1/4 circle Punch #138299, 2" circle Punch #133782, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more ideas for gifts, cards, scrapbooking and 3 D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

Here is a picture of what it looks like partially opened.  For this picture I pulled down the bottom part of the holder.  Here is a picture of it opened all the way.

stampin up, Stampin" Up!

Here are the steps to make this holder:

  1. Stamp all you images on your Whisper White Card Stock using Crumb Cake (for a softer look) or Soft Suede (for a more bold look).
  2. Use Crumb Cake ink and sponge around all the edges (make sure you do all edges that fold)
  3. Adhere your stamped pieces to the appropriate Crumb Cake card stock
  4.  Using the 2" circle punch, punch out half of circle on the biggest piece of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper
  5. Adhere the Designer Series Paper
  6. Fold your holder so that Santa is on the top of the bottom fold.  Put a dimensional so that it is just below the flap with Santa on it.  You want to be able to still open up this flap.
  7. Then adhere the circles so that the bottom are even with the bottom of the card holder

The Santa will fit right under the circles.  Isn't it the best gift card holder?!  Whoever you give it to, they will love it!

This weekend I have been busy baking.  I make goodies bags for all of the daycare families and for Mr. Wonderful's work.  I made 13 different goodies.  My house still smells so good!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy Stampin!

Waterfall Card using Apple of My Eye

IMG_1398

I have a file on my desk of card ideas that I want to make someday.  I was trying to figure out what could be my last card for my class.  I kept looking through them, Pinterest, Facebook and other blogs.  My eyes kept going back to the waterfall card.  To me it looked difficult and I didn't want a really hard card to make.  This class was going to be a little longer because of all the different types of fold cards.  To get a better idea on how to make one of these types of cards I went on to Youtube to check out how hard is it really.  Well, you have a number of them that you are sitting there going "huh?"  Then I found this one and it was pretty easy, just took a little more time.  Yeah! I found one we could make!

I wanted a fun, bright and cheerful card as it was almost spring.  I used the stamp set Apple of My Eye because of all the different bright colors you could use.   Here are the supplies we used to make the card:

Real Red Cardstock #102482

  • 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • 1" x 4 1/4"
  • 4 of 2" x 2"
  • 2" x 9" score at 2", 2 3/4", 3 1/2" and 4 1/4"

Brights Designer Series Paper - Daffodil Delight #138434

  • 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • 4 at 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"

On your four white pieces of paper you are going to stamp 4 different fruits.  These are the ones that I used and in the order I used them from left to right.

You are going to put your designer series paper onto your real red cardstock.  You will then put on your 1" x 4 1/4" strip of red paper on top of the DSP paper about 1/3 of the way up.  you will only put adhesive on the very ends of this paper.  It will temporarily hold your paper in place until you put the brads in.

Using either your paper piercing tool or the 1/8" hand held punch you will poke two holes on the end of the thin strip of real red paper.  I only went in about an 1/4" from the edge and tried to center it on the paper.  The type of brads I used were the Candy Dots Brad Bases.

I have to tell you a little trick I learned making this card.  I went to get out my candy dots and noticed I was out of the daffodil delights.  What was I going to use? I knew I wanted a bright yellow but where was I going to get two, let alone a lot more for my class.  I started searching my craft room and found the It's My Party Enamel Dots in the Occasions Catalog.  They fit perfect!!! Problem solved and now I found another use for the Enamel Dots.

You need to stamp your images next and adhere them to the 2" x 2" red squares.

To assemble the waterfall you will fold your score marks towards you starting with the score marks on the top.  You will then adhere the the pear on top of the end of the paper and the first score mark.  The 2" x 2" red square should cover this area completely.  You then add the next square on the next score line, but ONLY PUT ADHESIVE ON THE VERY TOP, or it will not be able to move.  Keep doing this with the next two squares of the apple and then lemon/cherry square.  You should be able to hold onto the pear and move the bottom of the red piece of paper up and down and they should move,  Here is a picture of what it looks like from the side.

You will then insert the back part (the longest section on the red paper) between you DSP and your red band.  Figure out where the center of your card is and punch out a half of a circle using the 1 1/4" circle punch.  You need this step so you will be able to grasp the paper to pull it down.  I then punch a little hold in the bottom of the red piece to add a ribbon so you have something to hold onto to pull it down and push it up.

You will need to figure out exactly where you want it to sit on your card (if you look at my first picture you will see the bottom of it is about up 1/4" on the DSP paper.  You need to put tear and tape adhesive behind the pear on the bottom edge of the red ban.  Then attach the section behind the pear to the ban.  If you keep you back piece of the waterfall about 1/4" up the DSP it will lay perfectly.

Here is another picture to show you what it looks like with the pear attached and the red paper pulled all the way down.  You will also see where I stamped the image.

You just made a waterfall card!!!  I know this would have been easier to do a video on this card,  but I haven't even tried that yet. I am hoping to get into making videos sometime this year.  That is one of my goals for 2016. Wish me luck!

Once you make one of these cards, you will see how easy it is to make.  If you need to watch a video to better understand how I made this card I used Dawn's Stamping Thoughts video.

Thank you for stopping by today and have a great day!

Happy Stampin!

Last Day for Sale-A-Bration!!!! Just For You Z Fold Card

Today is the LAST day for Sale-A-Bration for 2016!  It has been my best Sale-A-Bration so far!  Thank you everyone who put me down as their demonstrator!  You are the best!

I wanted to get this card on my blog for the end of the month as it has a fabulous stamp set from Sale-A-Bration named  Botanicals for you!  I am really thinking of keeping this stamp set for myself.  I love how big the "Just For You" is and the other stamps in the set.  I hope they have something like this in the new Annual Catalog that comes out soon!

I saw this kind of card on another demonstrators blog and fell in love with it.  I had never made a Z Fold Card so I thought this would be perfect for my Creative Fold Class.  It looked like it might take some time to make it, but it was actually a pretty fast and simple card.  That is the type of card you want when you are in a hurry.

I used the stamp sets Botanicals For You, Birthday Blossoms and Grateful Bunch to make this card.  You will also need the following supplies to make this card.

Calypso Coral Cardstock #122925

  • cut 2 pieces at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Night of Navy Cardstock #100867

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • 3 3/4" x 5"
  • 3 1/4" x 11" score at 2" and 6 1/2"

You will stamp you images on the white piece of paper and make the banners out of Regals and Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  The Glitter Tape is from Sale-A-Bration as well.

This is how you will fold you white piece of paper to look like a Z.

IMG_1414

The section that has the 3 layers will adhere to the smallest section of the white paper.  I centered the bottom section of the white paper onto the piece of Calypso Coral paper.  I did use stronger adhesive, such as fast fuse, on this card, just because of the way it was being opened.  You will then want to fold the white paper down and put adhesive on the top section of the white paper.  You will want to line up the two pieces of Calypso Coral paper to get them even.

Here is a picture of the card open so you can see what I mean.
