Happy Hump Day!  Where has this week gone?  Somewhere in this week I have lost a day already and it is only Wednesday.  My mom always told me the older you get the faster time goes.  Boy, was she right!  I hate to see how fast time goes in 20 years.

For my make and takes at my open house, I wanted super simple cards but they needed to highlight some of our new products.  These are the two cards that I created.

The card on the left in the picture above is featuring the Delightful Daisy stamp set and punch.  This is the punch that has been so popular that we haven't been able to order it, because they ran out.  I knew this set would be a hit, but I didn't think it would be this big of one and neither did Stampin' Up!  They had 10,000 of them in stock when preorder started for the demonstrators.  Well, we loved it so much that we ordered 7,200 of them in just the first two weeks!!! That is amazing.  Although, this is a good problem to have - people want your product so much you sell out.  This doesn't surprise me at all with this catalog.  I think it is the best one yet. Hopefully, it will be in stock next week!

The card on the right is highlighting the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and I paired it with the Pretty Label Punch (this also has a coordinating stamp set), the Stitched Shaped Framelits and the 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in the Berry Burst color.

On both of the cards I wanted to also use some of our beautiful, and I mean beautiful designer series paper.  Wow, is all I can say about the papers in this catalog.  I didn't know which one to create with first! On the daisy card I used the paper, Delightful Daisy DSP, that coordinates with the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy Punch.  Don't you love how everything goes together!

The Happy Birthday card has the new Fresh Florals DSP Stack.  Does this paper look familiar?  This same design of paper was in our last annual catalog and was such a big hit that Stampin' Up! brought it back in our 2017-2019 In Colors.

Here are the cards individually so you can see them better.  I have the directions under each of the cards.

What To Do With Scraps card #5

Stampin up, Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder #140697, Timeless Textures #140517, Moroccan DSP #141465, bitty Butterfly Punch #129406, Boho Chic Embossing Folder #138286, Rhinestones #119246, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

As I was typing up my blog post for yesterday I realized that I never did a post for the last card from my What To Do With Scraps class.  If you could see my desk right now you would know why.  I am trying to get a lot done before I have to tear apart my craft room this weekend, so there is stuff every where.  I am sure I am going to lose something in this whole process.

If you look real close to the picture above, you might be able to see that I have embossed the front of this card with the Boho Chic embossing folder.  It gives it such a great texture and takes this card to the next level.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Dapper Denim Cardstock #141414

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Emerald Envy Cardstock #14145

  • cut at 2" x 4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Very Vanilla Cardstock #101650

  • cut at 1 3/4" x 4"
  • cut at 2 1/4" x 4"
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for inside the card

Moroccan Designer Series Paper #141645

  • cut 3 at 1 1/4" x 5 1/8"
  • scrap for the butterfly

The first thing I did was adhere the Moroccan Designer Series Paper onto the Emerald Envy.  I then put the paper through the big shot with the Boho Chic embossing folder.  You then adhere it to your Dapper Denim card base.  You can finish assembling your card and then punch out the butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I added Rhinestones (I used the ones that are in a strip and cut off 3 of them) to put a little bit of bling on the card.

Have a fabulous Friday and a weekend!

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Cottage Greetings #139962, Succulent Garden DSP #142778, Petal Burst Embossing Folder #141493, Flourish Thinlits #141478, designed by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

You may have seen this on my Facebook page already, but not on here.  I am not sure what happened last night, but I thought I saved this and scheduled it to be posted this morning.  I must not have hit the save button.

I saw the layout for this card on Pinterest and wanted to try it.  I love looking at a layout and then at my supplies and seeing what I can come up with.  This was a fun card to make with the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper.  Flourish Thinlits and Cottage Greeting stamp set.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Tip Top Taupe Cardstock #138336

  • cut 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"

Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock #141418

  • cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • cut at 2 5/8" x 3 7/8"
  • cut at 2 1/8" x 4 1/8"

Mint Macaron Cardstock #138337

  • cut at 2" x 2"

Whisper White Cardstock #100730

  • cut at 2" x 4"
  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper #142778

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 3/4"

One of the pieces of Whisper White paper was embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder and added to the front of the card.  I put the other piece of white paper on the inside of the card.

To add a little bit of bling I used the largest of the Rhinestones and added one to the center of the flower.  I only put glue on the center of the green flowering lifted up the outer edges so that it gave it some dimension.  I added 3 of the middle sized Rhinestones to the upper right hand corner.

I used the Mint Macaron ink to stamp the sentiment from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.

I hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday and enjoying the sunshine.

What To Do With Scraps card #3

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Avant Garden #143272, Floral Phrases #141767, Floral Boutique DSP #141663, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits #142749, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

This is the third card from my class and it has my two of my favorite products on it.  I love the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, which all of you know, and the dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits.    I put a little bling on the dragonfly with Wink of Stella clear. I tried to get a picture, but it just wasnt't showing up.  Trust me, it is so pretty.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Night of Navy Card Stock #100867

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Pink Pirouette Card Stock #111351

  • cut at 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • cut at 2 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4"

Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper #141663

  • cut at 1" x 1 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 1 1/2"
  • cut at 1 1/2" x 2"
  • cut at 2" x 2"

I have a tip for you as you adhere your designer series paper.  Lightly lay your small pieces on the Pink Pirouette square and make sure they are where you want them.  Then press them into place.  This is a lot easier than having to try and remove and reposition them.

On the inside of the card, sorry I forgot to take a picture, I used the long stamp from the stamp set Floral Phrases and stamped it on the bottom of the white piece of cardstock.  I also used it on the envelope, but I did it on the side as it was not long enough to go all the way across the bottom.

Last night I had my stamp camp, I love spending time with my friends.  I am so blessed to have customers who have become my good friends.

Have a fabulous day!

What To Do With Scraps card #2

stampin up, Stampin Up! Gorgeous Grunge 130517, Tin of Cards #138946, Layering Circle Framelits #141705, Stitched Shapes Framelits # 145372, Blooms and Bliss DSP #141654, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com

Do you have thin strips of paper left and don't know what to do with them?  They are too pretty to throw away and if your like me, you don't want to waste paper.  Do you need a fast thank you or birthday card?  I have the perfect card for you!  When I saw this card on Pinterest I knew it would be great to use all those thin strips of paper I had.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Sahara Sand Card Stock #121043

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Rich Razzleberry Card Stock #115316

  • 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Blooms and Bliss Card stock #141654

  • cut 3 of 1/2" x 5 1/2"

I stamped the background with a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Sahara Sand ink.  I also used the ink to sponge around the edges and around the white circle.  This gives the card a softer look.

I made this card a thank you card, but you can use any of the sentiments from the Tin of Cards stamp set.

To put my strips on starting with the right one at one inch from the right side of the card.  Then I adhered the other two strips right next to the first one.  Linen thread was used to wrap around the card twice (I used 23 inches).  I then made a double bow and adhered with a glue dot (I used 10 inches).

The Layering Circle Framelits and the Stitched Shapes Framelits were used to cut out the circle.  I popped up the circles using the Stampin Dimensionals.

Wasn't that an easy card to make? and a perfect way to use your scraps?

This is a short post today as I am busy working on projects for Stamp Camp tomorrow night and I have a workshop on Saturday.  Today my box of goodies come for the display I am doing at OnStage.  I can't wait!!  I wonder what is going to be in there?

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

What To Do With Scraps card #1

stampin up, Stampin' Up! Birthday Blossoms #139471, Cupcakes and Carousels DSP #142744, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, ideas, gifts, scrapbooking and 3D projects to to stampinscrapper.com

On Friday I had my What To Do With Scraps class and it was a lot of fun.  We had one lady join us for the first time.  She loved it so much she signed up for more classes.  Yay!  It was nice to go back to the basics to teach her how to stamp as she never stamped before. Sometimes I think we get comfortable with how we do things, we forget to go back to the basics.

Mr. Wonderful always comes and gives me his opinion on the cards I make.  Sometimes he gives me great advise on how to step up a card.  On the above card her fell in love with it.  He loved the design and the paper I used.

To make this card you will need the following products:

Early Espresso Card Stock #119686

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Bermuda Bay Card Stock #131197

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Very Vanilla Card Stock #101650

  • cut at 2 3/4 x 5" for the front
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5" for the front
  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside

Calypso Coral Card Stock #1122925

  • cut at 1/2" x 5"

Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack #142744

  • cut 4 different designs at 1 1/2" x 4"

The four pieces of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and then cut them from one corner to the other to make triangle shapes (see photo below).  Take the 2 3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla paper and put a mark at 2 1/2" on each of the 5" side and then cover it with adhesive. You can use SNAIL adhesive, tombow glue or a glue stick (which I used).  You are then going to lay out your paper pieces in the order you want them to go on your card.  Attach the center two pieces first making sure they are lined up with the two marks you made.  Then put on the other pieces making sure they are right next to each other.

When you are finished you will have piece hanging over your Very Vanilla piece, trim them off.  Stamp your sentiment first on the 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla, then attach the piece you just finished with the sunburst design.  Add your Calypso Coral piece and ribbon. Adhere all of this to the Bermuda Bay card stock which is then attached to the Early Espresso card base.

What To Do With Your Scraps Card #5

                     IMG_1452

This is my final card from my class What To Do With Your Scraps class.  I think this is my favorite of all of them.  I am not sure if it because I love the DSP English Garden, or Night of Navy, or butterflies or just all of it.  I will definitely be making a bunch of these cards.  I used the stamp set Rose Garden and it comes with 4 different sayings.  That gives you a lot of options.

I used the following products to make this card:

Thick Whisper White Card Stock #140272

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Night of Navy Card Stock #100867

  • 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • scrap for the butterfly

English Garden DSP #138440

  • cut one at 1 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • cut one at 1 1/2" x 4"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • scraps for the Happy Birthday Saying

I started making this card by stamping the scattered dots stamp out of the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Night of Navy all over the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" paper.  I then took Early Espresso and sponged it all around the edges of the paper.  This softened up the look a little bit which what I wanted.

Take your three 1 1/2" pieces of paper and use the Banner Triple Punch on all three of them.  I then sponged early espresso around all of the edges.

I adhered the banners starting with the one on the right lining it up on the top and right side of the paper.  I gently laid the left on my paper, DO NOT push down until you get it right where you want it.  I then lightly put the blue banner on top to make sure it was centered.  I did not put adhesive on the blue banner yet.   When I get them the way I want them I then press hard on the left hand banner.  Then put adhesive on the blue banner and adhere to the paper.

I knew I wanted to finish the top with something as I didn't like the looks of the banner tops staring at me.  I found my Night of Navy seam binding ribbon, which looked great.  I wrapped that around the top and adhered it on the back of the paper.  This will also hide any little blemishes you may have.  You can now adhere this piece of paper to your card!

I used a scrap piece of Night of Navy and used the framelit Bold Butterflies to cut out a butterfly for the front.  I love the detail on this framelit!  I put a rhinestone in the middle to give it a little bit of bling.

The Happy Birthday came from the Rose Garden stamp set with coordinating framelits.  I just love this set!  You can do so much with it.  I did you dimensionals to give the Happy Birthday a little bit of dimension.

On the inside of the card I stamped the coordinating stamp to the Happy Birthday in Rose Garden Stamp Set.

I hope you enjoyed all the cards in this series of What To Do With Your Scraps.  I had a lot of fun coming up with these cards.  Now you can go use your scraps and make a bunch of cards!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Stampin!

What To Do With Your Scraps Card #4

                     IMG_1448

Have you ever stamped an image, didn't like the color and try to stamp over it?  Well, I did that and I actually really like how it came out.

I got all the strips of paper on my card and was trying to figure out if I wanted to stamp the image in Black or Calypso Coral.  I decided to try the lighter color first and see how it looked.  It was ok, but it still needed something.  I tried the decorative border stamp from the Tin of Cards stamp set and I really liked how it finished off the card, but still wasn't totally happy with the card.    I will definitely be using the border  stamp a lot more.  It is really pretty.

Looking at the card I knew the saying needed to be stamped in the Black ink.  I figured I would just go ahead and stamp it in the black to see what it looks like to make sure I like it.  If I did I would just make another card with the colors I liked.  I stamped it with the Black ink and the Calypso Coral came through the black.  I loved it!!!  Who would have thought it would turn out so cool!!

Sometimes your mistakes come even better than what you had planned.  You have to love that!

To make this card I used the following products:

Basic Black Card Stock #121045

  • cut at 5 1/5" x 8 1/2 " score at 4 1/4"

Very Vanilla Card Stock #101650

  • cut 2 at 4" x 5 1/4" one is for the inside of the card

I cut my strips so they were 3/4" wide.  I used the Pretty Petals DSP stack # 138442 as they were the perfect length to work with 6 inches. You can use any size you have.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Stampin!

What To Do With Your Scraps Card #3

                                              IMG_5611

Here is a picture of Linda, Stacy and Robin concentrating on making the quilt card we made at our What To Do With Scraps Class.  How do I know they were concentrating so hard?  No one was talking! Hee Hee We had a lot of fun and of course, talked a lot too!  I just love having these ladies at my home for classes.  They are so fun!

The card I am going to show you today I found on Pinterest by Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek.  I loved the colors she used and they matched the colors of my DSP I had picked out.  How lucky am I?!

                      IMG_1449

Isn't that cute?  I love how it turned out and it was an easy peasy card!  It can't get any better than that!

To make this card you are going to need the following products:

Pool Party Card Stock #122924

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"

Bermuda Bay Card Stock #131197

  • cut two pieces at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"

Whisper White Card Stock #100730

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside
  • cut at 3 3/4" x 5" for the outside

Cherry On Top DSP Stack # 138443

  • 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"

I used a 1 3/8" square punch (retired from Stampin' Up!) to make my squares.  You can use various sizes, you will just get a little bit of a different look.

You will notice that there are small pieces of the squares on the top and bottom of the card.  I used one square from Bermuda Bay and Pool Party to make the end pieces.  I put adhesive on one corner, attached it to the whisper white paper and then cut off the access.  I used the remaining part of the square to do the other end of the design.

Do you want to know a little trick to make sure the squares are even for lining them up.  On the white piece of paper I drew a line down the middle of the paper lightly with a pencil (from one short side to the other short side of the paper).  You will be covering this up with the DSP squares so it doesn't show when the card is finished.  You want to make sure both points of your square  (top and bottom) line up on the line for the middle DSP square.  I lay out all three piece of DSP paper on the line to make sure it is centered between the top and bottom.  Once I like where they are I then adhere one at a time, leaving the others where they go to make sure everything is lined up. You will want to adhere the center square first.

After you have the DSP squares attached, you can go ahead and fill in with the remaining squares.

I wrapped Bermuda Bay stitched ribbon #140569 around the Bermuda Bay and White paper first before adhering it to the base of the card.

This is another easy card to make with all kinds of paper and designs. I hope I gave you some ideas on what to do with all of your scraps.

Happy Stampin!

What To Do With Your Scraps Card #2

IMG_1450

I love the looks of quilts, but I can't make one to save my life.  LOL Years ago I tried to quilt but,  I couldn't get the squares all lined up perfectly.  I was going crazy!  I blamed the sewing machine, but I think it was me.  No, I know it was me.  I am definitely not a quilter, so I make cards that look like quilts.

This was a fun card to make and it is a lot easier if you have a 3/4" punch.  You will have to punch or cut out 25  3/4" squares.  I cut out the following paper and measurements:

Thick Whisper White Card stock #140272

  • 5 1/5" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • 4 1/4" x  5 1/2"

Blackberry Bliss Card Stock #133675

  • 4 - 3/4" squares
  • 4" x 4" square

Lost Lagoon Card Stock #133679

  • 4 - 3/4" squares

Calypso Coral Card Stock #122925

  • 5 - 3/4" squares
  • scrap piece to punch out scalloped oval

Wildflower Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration

  • 4 - 3/4" squares of one design
  • 8 - 3/4" squares of a coordinating design

I used a scrap piece of Whisper White Card Stock #100730 for the saying.  I wanted some texture behind the quilt piece and went searching through my embossing folders.  I found this one, the Boho Chic, that I had used in a very long time.  I think it goes great with the focal point piece.

Here is a tip to help you keep everything lined up and in place.  Glue your square pieces to the grid paper #130148 from Stampin Up!.  I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue for these pieces.  It was nice to be able to move them a little to line them up.  Everything will line up perfectly and that gives you a base for your card.  I then cut it out of the grid paper, then I used my trimmer to even out my sides.  You should end up with a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" quilted square when you are finished.

You are probably wondering why you needed 5 Calypso Coral squares when you only see 4.  The fifth one is hiding behind the "thanks".  I used dimensions on the saying so it popped up a little.

I hope this card gives you another idea of what to do with your scraps.  This card is great for any occasion, because you can just change the saying.
