This card looks like it took a long time to make, but it really is an easy peasy card. I love those kind of cards! People will drool over it and you can honestly say "Oh, it was nothing"!
To make this card I used the Circle of Spring stamp set #138964 for the saying on the front. That is the only stamping that you will do unless you want to add a flower on the inside to decorate it and/or the envelope. If you do want to do that I recommend the Botanical Blooms stamp set #140757. I use the big flower and the little center that looks like it has a lot of legs coming out of the center. LOL That is the only way I could think to explain it.
You will need the following supplies to make the card:
Hello Honey Cardstock #133678
- Cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
- Cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"
Whisper White #100730
- Cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" - this is for the inside of the card
Botanical Gardens DSP #140583
- cut at 4" x 11 1/2" score at 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 7 1/2" and 8 1/2"
Scraps of Cajun Craze, Early Espresso Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow to make the flowers.
To make the angle cut on the DSP you will need to put a little mark on the side that has the first score line at 1/12". You will make the mark 1 1/2" down from the top. From that mark to the the last score line you will cut your paper. If you will look at my card you will notice that you do not touch the biggest section. You are only cutting the area that you are going to be folding to make the skirt. You can cut this with the scissors or your trimmer.
After you have made your cut you will need to fold your paper in an accordion style. I put adhesive on the back of each fold to hold the paper flat for a nicer look. I first stamped my image on the front. Remember you always want to stamp first before you adhere because if you make a mistake you can always turn your paper over and stamp again. You will then adhere your DSP already folded onto the hello honey paper. I made sure I put quite a bit of adhesive or use the fast fuse adhesive to make sure it stays folded and stays on the paper. I put the ribbon on next and then the flowers. I did not pop any of the flowers this time. You will put your completed card front on your card base and your finished!
You can use this card for any occasion and it is a great way to use up your designer series paper. That gives me an idea. I need to make cards for a friend as a thank you and she loves this card. I think I know what I am going to make her now!
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a fabulous day!!!
Happy Stampin!
