Here is a picture of Linda, Stacy and Robin concentrating on making the quilt card we made at our What To Do With Scraps Class. How do I know they were concentrating so hard? No one was talking! Hee Hee We had a lot of fun and of course, talked a lot too! I just love having these ladies at my home for classes. They are so fun!
The card I am going to show you today I found on Pinterest by Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek. I loved the colors she used and they matched the colors of my DSP I had picked out. How lucky am I?!
Isn't that cute? I love how it turned out and it was an easy peasy card! It can't get any better than that!
To make this card you are going to need the following products:
Pool Party Card Stock #122924
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
- 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"
Bermuda Bay Card Stock #131197
- cut two pieces at 4" x 5 1/4"
- 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"
Whisper White Card Stock #100730
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside
- cut at 3 3/4" x 5" for the outside
Cherry On Top DSP Stack # 138443
- 3 squares measuring 1 3/8"
I used a 1 3/8" square punch (retired from Stampin' Up!) to make my squares. You can use various sizes, you will just get a little bit of a different look.
You will notice that there are small pieces of the squares on the top and bottom of the card. I used one square from Bermuda Bay and Pool Party to make the end pieces. I put adhesive on one corner, attached it to the whisper white paper and then cut off the access. I used the remaining part of the square to do the other end of the design.
Do you want to know a little trick to make sure the squares are even for lining them up. On the white piece of paper I drew a line down the middle of the paper lightly with a pencil (from one short side to the other short side of the paper). You will be covering this up with the DSP squares so it doesn't show when the card is finished. You want to make sure both points of your square (top and bottom) line up on the line for the middle DSP square. I lay out all three piece of DSP paper on the line to make sure it is centered between the top and bottom. Once I like where they are I then adhere one at a time, leaving the others where they go to make sure everything is lined up. You will want to adhere the center square first.
After you have the DSP squares attached, you can go ahead and fill in with the remaining squares.
I wrapped Bermuda Bay stitched ribbon #140569 around the Bermuda Bay and White paper first before adhering it to the base of the card.
This is another easy card to make with all kinds of paper and designs. I hope I gave you some ideas on what to do with all of your scraps.

I love your "quilted" card, but I believe the dimensions for the Whisper White CS and the squares are not correct. If I cut the WW at the dimensions you say, it is the same size as the Bermuda Bay CS.
If I cut the WW smaller to leave a border of the Bermuda Bay showing around it, then the 1 3/8" squares will not fit on the WW. They're too large. I know I just need to adapt the sizes, but thought you might want to be aware that your directions may be in error, or else I am just not understanding
them.
I have several friends who quilt, so thought this might be a cute card for them, and I also love
the idea of using up scraps.
Thank you for sharing.

Mary J thank you for your kind comments and pointing out my error. It is always good to have a second set of eyes to keep me on my toes. I have corrected it measurements above. For the white piece on the front of the card you will need to cut it at 3 3/4" x 5". You will have to trim just a little off the solid color squares on the sides of the card, as they are just a tiny bit too big.
If you have any other questions, please let me know! :)
I hope you have a wonderful day!
