Do you ever have a hard time trying to figure out what colors to use on a project? Me too!!! Today I especially had a hard time for some reason. Then I remembered a trick that Connie Stewart, another SU demonstrator, shared. You punch out a shape, I used the retired scalloped circle punch, from every color of card stock you have. You lay them all out on your desk so you can see all the different colors. I was trying to coordinate with the paper under the colored circles. Aren't the above colors just beautiful!! So many possible combinations.
I went through and picked out the colors I knew I didn't want to use. I took out all the colors I knew I didn't want to use. Then I put the ones left together with other similar colors. This is what I ended up with. I had a hard time figuring out what color combination I wanted to use.
I then narrowed it down to the four color combinations I liked best. I could have used all of them, and that was the problem. I liked them all! What one do I use? I then thought of the person I was making the project for and knew which one I wanted immediately! Can you guess which one?
Did you guess the pink ones? I love the combination of them together. They make me happy! Did you noticed that on back of them I have them labeled? I put a label on the back of each one of them so I knew right away what the color was. This step saves me a lot of time.
I have a group of friends from our church that get together monthly to celebrate anyone that has a birthday that month. I always make my gift I give. This year I am doing prayer journals. Everyone has loved them so far and I hope you do too.
Now for the finished project!
I just love how this turned out! I almost want to keep it for myself and make my friend a different one. Shh don't tell her! I used the same paper to make the card so they would coordinate. I will have directions tomorrow or Friday on how to make this journal.
Thank you for stopping in today and I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!
Happy Stampin!
Joyce
