On Friday I had my What To Do With Scraps class and it was a lot of fun. We had one lady join us for the first time. She loved it so much she signed up for more classes. Yay! It was nice to go back to the basics to teach her how to stamp as she never stamped before. Sometimes I think we get comfortable with how we do things, we forget to go back to the basics.
Mr. Wonderful always comes and gives me his opinion on the cards I make. Sometimes he gives me great advise on how to step up a card. On the above card her fell in love with it. He loved the design and the paper I used.
To make this card you will need the following products:
Early Espresso Card Stock #119686
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
Bermuda Bay Card Stock #131197
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
Very Vanilla Card Stock #101650
- cut at 2 3/4 x 5" for the front
- cut at 3 3/4" x 5" for the front
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside
Calypso Coral Card Stock #1122925
- cut at 1/2" x 5"
Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack #142744
- cut 4 different designs at 1 1/2" x 4"
The four pieces of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP and then cut them from one corner to the other to make triangle shapes (see photo below). Take the 2 3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla paper and put a mark at 2 1/2" on each of the 5" side and then cover it with adhesive. You can use SNAIL adhesive, tombow glue or a glue stick (which I used). You are then going to lay out your paper pieces in the order you want them to go on your card. Attach the center two pieces first making sure they are lined up with the two marks you made. Then put on the other pieces making sure they are right next to each other.
When you are finished you will have piece hanging over your Very Vanilla piece, trim them off. Stamp your sentiment first on the 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla, then attach the piece you just finished with the sunburst design. Add your Calypso Coral piece and ribbon. Adhere all of this to the Bermuda Bay card stock which is then attached to the Early Espresso card base.
It was a busy and fun weekend at our house. I had a class, and evening playing euchre (a card game) with friends, church and an event afterwards that I am in charge of and working on my blog and getting ready for class on Thursday. All things I love to do!
I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to make today fabulous! Have a great Monday!
