When I finished making my Tropical Oasis Album I had small scraps of paper left over. So, of course, I had to use them. With all the gloomy weather lately I decided to create a card that was bright and cheery. On this card, I used products from the Stampin' Up! annual and mini catalogs. From the annual catalog I used the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Frosted Flower embellishments.
In the mini catalog there is the So Sentimental Bundle that has beautiful sentiments in the stamp set and stitched dies. When you order the bundle you save 10%!
To make this project you will need the following paper. For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.
Cardstock:
Melon Mambo
- cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
Grapefruit Grove
- cut at 3" x 4"
Whisper White
- cut at 2 1/2" x 3"
- cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for inside the card
Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper
- cut at 3" x 4"
I added a rhinestone in the center of each of the flowers for a little bit of bling. One tip I have for you is to add a little dot of the Multi Purpose Liquid Glue in the center of each flower before you add the rhinestones.
This card makes me think of Hawaii when I look at it. What does it make you think of?
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a fantastic day!
Happy Stampin and

Oh, so pretty! I love that basketweave embossing with the flowers. That paper makes me wish for warmer weather! TFS.

Why is the Grapefruit Grove and the DSP cut the same size?
Posted by: Claudia | 01/31/2020 at 01:53 PM
Hi Claudia, Those measurements are the same because that is the size you need to cut them out with the dies. Once you cut them out with the dies they will be different sizes (you use two different sizes of dies). You can have a smaller piece of DSP if you want. I thought it would be easier if I just kept them the same size.

Definitely makes me think Hawaii too! Love this card! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Joyce - that is a great card! I don't have those dies, so I will just have to wing it. :-)

Thank you Susan!

Hi Claudia!
I measured the paper after it was cut out and the measurements are:
Grapefruit Grove - 2 1/2" x 3 5/8"
DSP - 2" x 3 1/8"
I hope that helps. You could cut them out at the measurements above and use them that way, or you could cut them out with the stitched rectangle dies if you have them.
