Dandelion Wishes Get Well Card

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Dandelion Wishes stamp set #146747, Created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects, go to Stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

It is so striking when you use white embossing powder for your stamped images against a darker color.  On this card I used the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and stamped it with Versa Mark ink.  I then added the white embossing powder and heat set.  It is so striking, which I tried to get in the picture, but it is hard to get the full effect.  Trust me, it is beautiful in person.

To add a little texture to the card, I added a piece of the Basic Gray cardstock (the same size as the front of the card) and embossed it with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  The first time I tried just embossing the front section of the card base, but I didn't like how it made the front of the card almost seem thin.  So, I decided to emboss a separate piece of paper and attach it to the front of the card.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Basic Gray

  • cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"
  • cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Mint Macaron

  • cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • cut at 3 3/8" x 4 5/8"

Whisper White

  • cut at 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card

I also used Versa Mark ink and White Embossing Powder on the sentiment.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The sentiment and under the Mint Macaron layer is popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.

Do you have any special plans for this weekend?  I am going to try and finish up my Christmas shopping and do my baking this weekend.  Every year I make goodie bags for each daycare family.  I usually put between 10-12 different goodies in their bags.  They look forward to it each year.  Tonight I am finishing up my mother-in-laws famous nut roll.  It takes me two days to make it, but it is so worth it!  Do you have a favorite recipe you make each year?

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a terrific weekend!

I love how you can take Stampin' Up! designer series paper with a stamp set that is from a different suite and they coordinate perfectly.  One of the many reasons why I love Stampin' Up!

This month at my Stamp Camp I featured the Sunshine Sayings stamp set along with the Sunshine Wishes framelits.  On this card we only used the stamp set, along with the Twinkle Twinkle designer series paper and Layering Oval and Stitched Shapes framelits.   This is a great card if you need to make a lot of them, they are very easy to mass produce.

I wanted to use all the colors that were in the beautiful designer series paper, which I did with all of the layers under the paper and under the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment and the flowers on the Night of Navy cardstock using the Night of Navy ink.  I finished up the card by popping up the sentiment with Stampin Dimensionals and adding a Rhinestone to the center of all of the flowers.

I also stamped a flower on the bottom left hand corner on the inside of the card and envelope.  Remember, never send out a naked card (per Shelli the cofounder of Stampin' Up!).

We have been having a lot of fun in our house with Donald Duck.  You see, Santa didn't bring us an Elf on the Shelf, he brings us Disney characters.  Last year Minnie visited us.  This year he sent us Donald.  Here are four of the things that Donald has been up to in our house.

AdventuresofDonaldStampinScrapperJoyceWhitmanIt is so fun to watch the kids come in everyday wondering where Donald is and what he is up to.  I am not sure who is having more fun, me or the kids.  LOL

Night In Bethlehem

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Night In Bethlehem stamp set #145282, Bethlehem Edgelits #144676, Layering Circle Framelits #141705, Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372, Tufted Embossing Folder #146335, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com, Joyce Whitman

I had a request at one of my Christmas classes for a card using the Night In Bethlehem stamp set from Stampin' Up!  The first place I always go to is Pinterest and then check Google images for inspiration.  This card is inspired by many different cards.  I love how it turned out.

StampinUpNightInBethlehemStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman3

For the background I used the Tufted embossing folder.  I then used the Layering Circle Framelits and Stitched Shapes Framelits for the background of Mary and Joseph.  I stamped them with Night of Navy ink and cut them out using the Bethlehem Edgelits.  I used the same edgelits for the star which I cut out of the beautiful Silver Foil Sheets.  Both of these cutouts are popped using Mini Dimensionals.  They are perfect for little projects or sections that need just a little dimensional.  You no longer have to cut the normal dimensionals in half.

To make sure I got a solid image on Mary and Joseph I used our new Stamparatus.  I am not sure I stamped without this product!  It is so nice to have things perfectly lined up and if you don't get a solid image, you just stamp it again.  It will go perfectly over the top of your first stamped image.  Yay!!!

StampinUpNightInBethlehemStampinScrapperJoyceWhitman4

The sentiment is also stamped with Night of Navy and comes from the same stamp set.  I finished off the card using Rhinestones in different sizes.  Remember you always want to do things in odds.  So, I have added 5 rhinestones.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

The Snowflake Showcase promotion is ending on Friday, November 30th, so I wanted to make another card to show you how beautiful the products are in the special offer!  When I started playing with the Snow is Glistening stamp set the only thing I knew was I wanted to use the Christmas tree.  Other than that I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do.

I first started with the snowfall on the top by stamping it with VersaMark ink and adding White Embossing powder.

I stamped the Christmas trees three times.  First, I stamped the outside trees, using a mask for where the middle tree will go, and then the center tree.  I added the sentiment to a 3/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock using the Silver embossing powder.

The final touch I put on this card is the snowflake on top of the treat from the Snowflake Trinkets.  I will say I am really going to miss this stamp set and coordinating thinlits called Snowfall.

I was so excited to find out at OnStage that the Wishing You Well stamp set will be carried over.  I am so excited because we will be able to still get this stamp set after the sale period ends of the holiday catalog.  This stamp set is a DistINKtive stamp set, which means you get two different shades of color all while only stamping once.  The bow on the card is a perfect example of this unique stamp.  I used only two colors on this card, Night of Navy and Pear Pizzazz.

Merry Christmas Monday Week #3

Stampin Up, Stampin' Up!, Spirited Snowmen stamp set #148072, Frost White Shimmer paint #147046, Dazzling Diamonds #133751, created by Stampin Scrapper, for more cards, gifts, ideas, scrapbooking and 3D projects go to stampinscrapper.com
I had so much fun making this card!  I used one of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets, Spirited Snowmen.  I know you are all in shock that one of my favorite stamp sets has snowmen in it.  LOL  I made this card for Mr. Wonderful for our 30th anniversary in October.   Can I tell all of you how hard it has been for me to not share this before now!  I knew I wanted to use it in my Merry Christmas Monday series, so I have been patiently waiting until now.

I get so excited when I have a card that I really love and want to share it with everyone.   It has been killing me to keep quiet and if you know me, that is very hard for me to do.  But, I did it!  Yay!

On this card I used a few different techniques.  The first one is masking, which means that you are covering up certain areas of your projects so you can only work on a particular area.  Such as the moon and the snowmen.  For the moon I punched out a 1" circle (keep the paper you punched the circle out of ) and adhered it to the Whisper White paper with repositional tape where I wanted the moon to be.

I stamped the snowmen on the Whisper White paper and also stamped one on a scrap piece of paper.  I cut out the one on the scrap piece of paper and adhered it over the image I stamped on my project piece of  Whisper White paper.  Again, I used the repositional tape to adhere it.  Using this tape made it so much easier to take it off my project.

I then added the blue sky on the Whisper White paper using a combination of Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink with sponges.   When I was finished I took off the 1" circle and snowmen.  Using the piece that I punched out the 1" circle from I adhered it so that the circles are lined up.  The circle on the paper and the one piece of paper I punched it out of.  I used Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry to create the moon.

Another technique I used was with the White Frost Shimmer Paint.  It is on the snow, snowmen and sporadically on the sky and moon.  On the snow and snowmen I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter after I put on the shimmer paint.  This gave the card a little bit of texture.

I used Stampin Write markers to color the snowmen and Whisper White Craft ink for the snow in the sky.

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Today I have a beautiful Christmas card to share with you!  When I saw the Winter Woods bundle in the holiday catalog I was thinking of so many different cards I could make with it.  The tree stamps in this set are so pretty and I love the sentiments.  There is a framelit that cuts out some of the branches for a fun 3D look.

We made this card in one of my Christmas card classes and the ladies really liked them!

First, you run the Smoky Slate cardstock through the Woodland embossing folder.  Then using a dauber and White Craft ink, lightly sponge the ink on the trees.  The piece of white paper is ran through the Softly Falling embossing folder and cut with one of the framelits from the In The Woods framelits.

The snow and trees are popped up using the Stampin Dimensionals.  To finish off the card I added the Metallic Pearls and the Metallic Edge Ribbon.

When there is a Stampin' Up! event, there is swapping involved!  Swapping means you create a certain number of cards (I made 50) all the same design.  Then you swap with all the participants and end up with 50 different cards.  I love participating in swaps and getting other beautiful cards.  I always get a lot of inspiration from their creations.

Here is a picture of the swaps that I received at OnStage.  Aren't they beautiful!  There are so many talented demonstrators from all over the world.

StampinUp2018OnStageOrlandoStampinScrapperJoyceWhitmanI was so blessed to have spent this event with 3 of my very good friends that I made through Stampin' Up!  I ran into the other lovely ladies throughout the OnStage event.   I have meet all of them because of Stampin' Up!  and for that I am eternally thankful.

We made this card at my advanced card class.  It is not difficult, just time consuming.  He is so worth it!

I went to look this morning at my post that were suppose to be posted while I was at OnStage and realized that my post for Saturday never happened.  I will repost it for all of you on Wednesday.

I am going to be changing my days of posting to Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this time.  I am still working with MailChimp and Typepad to get everything straightened out.  I ran into a friend of mine at OnStage and she is going to help me figure out what is going on.  Hopefully, this will be what I need to get it fixed.  I know you are probably frustrated and I truly appreciate your patience.  I know I am extremely frustrated!

I hope all of you have a terrific week!  I will be posting pictures later this week of my time at OnStage.  It was so fun!  I can't wait for the next one.
