Merry Christmas Monday 2021 Week #7

Merry Christmas Monday with a sneak peek from the new 2022 mini catalog and a new technique that I just learned! Wow! This card has a lot on it! How fun!

Have you ever seen the Twisted Ribbon Border Technique? I have not! Until I saw it on Pinterest on a card created by 2 Big Gals Crafting. I had to check it out and make one myself. 

I used the beautiful Tidings of Christmas suite in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog. The sentiments are from this stamp set and stamped with Sahara Sand ink on the front and Cherry Cobbler on the inside. I used the Tidings of Christmas designer series paper to create the Twisted Ribbon Border. I love how Stampin' Up! puts a coordinating color on the back of the designer series paper. It makes it so much easier when doing a card like this. 

Did you notice the sneak peek from the new upcoming 2022 Stampin' Up! mini catalog (also called the January - June catalog)? It is the beautiful Gingham embossing folder. I thought it was really pretty in the catalog, but wait until you see it in person. It is absolutely gorgeous. You know what else I noticed with this embossing folder? Once you emboss it, both sides are beautiful. This was the first time that I love both sides of the paper once it is embossed.

Merry Christmas Monday 2021 Week #1

Welcome to my Merry Christmas Monday series! I am so excited about my first project that I have to share with all of you. It is called an accordion fold card. We made a smaller version of this card in my creative fold class last week. It was a big hit!

When I started this project I wanted to use a stamp set I hadn't used before. I looked at my stamps and kept going back to Tidings & Trimmings, so that is what I used. This was one of my first stamp sets I bought for the holiday season, but kept putting it off to the side. I have a feeling you are going to be seeing this stamp set more. 

The above picture is of the front of the card that I made using the Stitched So Sweetly dies, Christmas Tidings dies, the beautiful Tidings of Christmas designer series paper and Champagne rhinestones. 

For the panel on the left hand side I used the beautiful Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder. What is unique about this embossing folder is that it comes with dies! Guess what else is so awesome?! You can cut and emboss at the same time!!! That is how I made the Evening Evergreen layer. The flowers were cut out using the dies that are also included with this embossing folder.

For this panel I used the Christmas Trimmings dies and Copper Foil Sheets. I do have a tip for you if you use these dies. For the intricate dies (copper stars), I highly recommend that you use the Adhesive Sheets. It makes it so easy to adhere them to the solid stars. 

On the back of the card I put this so you would have a place to write. I embellished it with Holly cut from the Christmas Trimmings dies and used Red Rhinestones for the berries. 

This is what the card looks like when it is folded up and bow is tied. I used the gorgeous Evening Evergreen Chevron ribbon from the annual catalog. 

This is definitely a card that you could use as a decoration in your home. I wanted to make a box to put this in, as I don't think it would fit in any envelope, but with Halloween yesterday and other commitments, I didn't get a chance to make it.

New at SU - Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper SAB

 

Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! I love being a part of this wonderful blog hop with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world.  Each month we share different crafting ideas with all of you! This month we are highlighting products from the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Have you seen the Penguin Playmate designer series paper in the Sale-A-Bration brochure?  Oh, my goodness it is so stinkin' cute and it coordinates with the Penguin Place bundle in the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog. Yay!

When I sat down to begin creating my project, I challenged myself to see how many different designs of the paper I could use on my card. I ended up making this creative fold card with 5 different papers from the pack! I couldn't believe it. I have to say, it was so much fun challenging myself.

I don't know if you are like me, where I have my favorite designs in the paper pack and don't even look at the rest of them. This way I was able to use a lot of them. I am going to have to do challenges like this more often.

It is hard to show sometimes how cards fold on pictures, so I took this one looking down at it.  I think it is easier to see how it folds together.

Cardstock:

Fresh Freesia

• cut at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" score at 3"

Basic White

• cut 2 at 2 7/8" x 4 1/8"
• cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
• cut at 3" x 8" score at 4"

Just Jade

• scraps for 3 trees

Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper

• cut 2 at 2 3/4" x 4"
• cut at 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"

On the front of the card all the animals came from one sheet of the designer series paper.  I fussy cut the bear and fox and used the Penguin Builder punch to punch out the penguin. The trees were punched out of Just Jade card stock using the Pine Tree Punch. 

Here are more pictures where you can see the paper better on each section.  The little tree on the white cardstock with the sentiment I fussy cut from the same paper as I cut the animals out of.

Corner Fold Gift Card Holder Video

When I posted my first Corner Fold Gift Card Holder card, I was asked how did I make it and did I have a tutorial.  So, I decided to do a Facebook live last night on my Stampin Scrapper page to share with all of you on how to make this card.  On this card I used the beautiful Sweet As A Peach stamp set, Peach dies and the You're A Peach designer series paper.

On the inside of the card, I added a 1/2" strip of designer series paper on the left hand side of the Basic White paper.  

I just love how the gift card fits perfectly in the holder.  

On the peaches, flowers and leaves I added Wink of Stella to add a little bit of sparkle to my card.  I used the gorgeous Pale Papaya Sheer Weave ribbon, which I cut in half, to make a triple bow.  

Here is the Facebook Live video that I made last night. Oh my goodness, I was having a rough night. LOL  You will see in the video that I made a couple of mistakes, we all do, but I show you how to fix them.  I also share with you tips on how to do the shading on the peaches, flowers and leaves.  You get a 2 for 1 bonus today!

This card is not difficult to make, you just have to make sure you take your time when you are doing your cuts for the corner fold.  Getting the measurements correct and not cutting too far.

Pansy Petals Creative Fold Birthday Card

I made this fun fold card for my mom for her birthday and she loved it!  The Pansy Petals suite on pages 28-29 in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog is just beautiful!  I did make this card while the Stitched Shapes dies were still available, but you could easily just cut the squares.  

This card looks like it is difficult to make, but it really isn't.  I had so much fun making this fun fold card.  My mom told me she still has it sitting up in her dining room. Yay! That's how I know she really likes it.  

This is a picture of it laying down so you can see a little better how it is cut. 

I put a piece of paper on the back of the card so you can put a little note on it if you want to. 

I am in love with the Pansy Petals suite.  The paper is simply gorgeous, the colors are so beautiful and bright.  I love that you can use the Pansy dies to cut out some of the designer series papers, which I did for this card.  

Look how adorable the little butterfly is.  It is so popular that is is not available right now.  Stampin' Up! is suppose to get more in the end of May beginning of June.

New At SU - Triple Accordion Fold With Sweet As A Peach

This month our theme is a creative fold featuring one of the new 2021-2023 annual catalog.  

I wanted to make a creative fold card that I hadn't made before and I wanted to use the You're A Peach designer series paper. So, I went online and starting looking at different types of folds.  I found this one, triple accordion fold, a few different times on Pinterest.  This fold is very easy and really makes your card have the WOW factor.

• cut at 5 1/2" x 11" score at 4 1/4", 7" and 9 3/4"

On the inside of the card and on the envelope I stamped the oranges from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set.  

I added Pale Papaya and white ribbon around the card to finish off the card.  I really like how this card came out and I hope you do too.

Triangle Trifold Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day!

A couple of weeks ago I had a creative fold class, which was a lot of fun!  One of the cards we made is called the Triangle Trifold card.  This is such a fun card to make.  It looks like it is difficult, but it isn't, you just have to make sure your score lines are going the right way. It will definitely put your card in the WOW category!

When you open it up, this is what the inside looks like.  

Here is a close up of the front of the card.  I used the Hand Penned designer series paper and Brilliant Wing dies.  The ribbon is the new Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave ribbon.  I also used Wink of Stella on both layers of the butterfly.

I sure hope my mom and mother-in-law like their cards for Mother's Day.

Tulips and Easter Go Together!

Tulips and Easter just go together!  When I think of tulips the thought of Spring and Easter comes to my mind.  This year for my Easter cards I used the Timeless Tulips stamp set from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I was so excited when I saw that this stamp set was going to be in the new annual catalog. 

Everywhere you look when you go in to stores, you will see the color purple.  Which is okay with me!  I also wanted to use the beautiful Hydrangea Hill designer series paper.  I did use a retired stamp set for the sentiment.  

Look what a fun fold this card is!  It is an easy fold that gives your card that Wow effect.

Gorgeous Grape

• cut at 5 1/2" x 7" score at 4 1/4"
• cut at 3 3/4" x 4 1/4" - score at 1/2" on the 3 3/4" side

On this card I stamped the tulips with the Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green inks and added Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves.  

On my second card I stamped the tulips with the Gorgeous Grape ink and the leaves and stems with the Granny Apple Green ink.  I couldn't decide which ink to use, so I was using both of them. I then added Wink of Stella to the flowers.  Look how they have a pinkish tint to them.  It was so weird when I put it the Wink of Stella on them, how it changed the color.  It was also really neat watching how it changed the color.  

Here is a picture with both cards together, so you can see them next to each other.  Look how the top one (stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink) has pink in it.  The bottom card was the one stamped with the Highland Heather ink and there was no change to it. Crazy! I tell ya, just crazy!  But cool at the same time.

I added the beautiful Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon around the card and tied a bow.  I used the ribbon to hold the card closed.

Pretty Perennials Class Cards

On Wednesday night I had my Pretty Perennial Class on my Stampin Scrapper Facebook page.  It was so much fun!  I haven't done a Facebook live in a long time.  I didn't realize how much I missed it, until I was doing this one.  I am definitely going to be doing more of them.  

Creative fold cards are so fun to make!  I saw a card like this online, created by Peggy Noe, and loved how she used the Sunflower dies to cut out the big flowers and off set them.  I had to use it on this card.  I love how it turned out. 

This type of creative fold is called the gate fold.

I stepped out of my comfort zone on this card.  LOL  This time I off set the card stock and the designer series paper to create the background.  This is a simple  card that looks like it is difficult.  The best kind!

Anyone would love to get this birthday card in the mail!

I have to say that I case'd (copy and share everything) this card created by Tina Gillespie.  I loved the simplicity of this card and wanted to make it just like she did. 

That is one of many things I love about Stampin' Up!  Everyone is so willing to share their ideas with everyone else.  I always tell people who want to make my projects that they are giving me the best compliment ever.  To have someone love your project so much they want to make it, it doesn't get much better than that.

Dragonfly Garden Slim Card

You all know I love butterflies, but the Dragonfly Garden stamp set is adorable.  The best part is that it comes with a coordinating punch, Dragonflies.  You can get both as a bundle and save 10%!  Yay!  

On the wings of the dragonflies I used the ink pad that matched the cardstock and a blender pen to color them.  I then added Wink of Stella on each one of them.  The dragonflies and sentiment were stamped with the Memento ink.  

The Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow panels were embossed with the Greenery embossing folder.  The Blackberry Bliss and Bumblebee panels were embossed with the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder.  I then cut them out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

Cardstock:

Early Espresso

• cut at 7" x 8 1/2" score at 3 1/2"

Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow

• cut 2 at 2" x 3 3/8"

White

• cut at 3/4" x 2 5/8" - for sentiment
• cut at 2 1/4" x 11" - to stamp dragonflies
• cut at 3 1/4" x 8 1/4" - inside of card
