Welcome to my new Stampin Scrapper Studio! I love it! It was a lot of work moving everything up from the basement, but so worth it. I had drawn out designs of how I wanted the furniture laid out a couple of different ways and it isn't like either of them. Isn't amazing on how you think something is going to look and then when you see it in person, it is awful. LOL
I took a bunch of pictures to show you the process of my new studio. Here they are:
Mr. Wonderful's dad made us this bookcase over 25 years ago. It so beautiful and I love it because he made it for us. This will be staying my studio. I can't wait to fill it up! The carpet in this room was the best of all the rooms. All of our flooring was over 20 years old. I have to say, it held up very well with all my little angels, 3 big dogs and 2 cats over the years we have been here.
They had torn up the carpet and were going to start laying another layer of wood to bring up the floor level with the hardwood that we had in our entry way, hall, dinette, kitchen and half bath.
They started laying the floor at the front door then worked their way to the back of the house. For some reason I was thinking the flooring was darker. So, when they opened up the boxes I was kinda surprised. I looked back at my pictures I had taken with the sample, and it was the correct floor. Whew!
The floor is down in my studio! I was so excited. It is so pretty.
Mr. Wonderful is standing in the playroom looking across into my studio. We can't believe how this floor is making the rooms feel so much bigger.
The finished room! I am so in love with it. I will have to say, I haven't climbed that many stairs in my life, moved that much furniture or worked that hard, but, boy it was worth it. Not sure if I would do it again though. LOL
When you walk into our front door, my studio is on the right hand side. I have two big windows I can look out now when I am creating. I love all of the natural light I get now. This picture is of what is on the left hand side of the room as you walk in. Emily made me this sign a while ago for me. It was the first thing I put that wasn't a craft supply.
This is the side of my craft table that you see when you walk in. It has all of my cutting/embossing machines, dies and embossing folders.
Isn't it just beautiful! I have said to Mr. Wonderful so many times that I wish his dad was still here with us, because I would be keeping him busy with making things for all of my craft supplies. This bookcase is extra special because of all the love he put in it when he built it. I am so honored that I get to use it in my studio. I tried to figure out on paper how I was going to put things in the bookcase, but again, it totally changed. The only thing that stayed the same are my machines on the top.
This is what is on the green wall that is straight ahead when you walk in. We had talked about painting this room, it was originally Mr. Wonderful's office when we moved in, but decided against it. The paint was in excellent condition and we really didn't have the time to get it done before they came. I am perfectly ok with the golf border on the top and the wall colors. Every time I look at the border, I think of my girls spending time with their dad and it warms my heart.
Last, but definitely not least is my desk. It is on the right hand side when you walk in. This is another piece of furniture that Mr. Wonderful's dad made. He made each of the girls a desk for their rooms when they were younger. This one was Erica's, but she didn't have room in her new apartment, so I am using it. This is one area that I am going to have to work hard at keeping clean. I like to throw stuff on it and worry about it later. I can't do that now. LOL
I hope you enjoyed seeing my new studio. I can't wait to get in there and start creating new projects to share with all of you.
I have to give a huge shout out to Mr. Wonderful! I couldn't have done everything by myself in such a short amount of time. I started moving things on Thursday night, worked a little on Friday morning and Friday night. We finished up the whole level that got new flooring, except for hanging pictures on Saturday night. Yes, we were totally exhausted, but we were done. It felt so good!
Thank you so much for stopping in today. I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday and the rest of the week. Sending lots of love and hugs to each of you.
Happy Stampin and
