Bloom and Grow Bundle - What's New At SU Blog Hop

I am so happy that you are joining us for our blog hop!   We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from around the world who are Hoppin’ With Exciting Ideas to share with you. Today we will feature products from the 2019-2020 annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I know you will find a lot of wonderful ideas that are shared today!

I had a hard time trying to figure out what stamp set I wanted to use for this blog hop.  There are so many beautiful sets in this catalog.  I started to look around my craft room to get inspiration and saw my display of the Blends markers.  I knew I wanted to use them, so that narrowed down my choices to images that could be colored.  There were still quite a few left in my pile and still no idea which one to use. 

Then, I looked over on my craft table and saw the Basket Weave embossing folder and I immediately knew I wanted to do a flower basket.  In my pile of stamp sets I saw the Bloom and Grow stamp set and knew it would be perfect!  I love to color so this card was a lot of fun for me to design and make.

• cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" for the basket

Good Morning Magnolia

I know the new Good Morning Magnolia stamp set is going to be very popular when the new Stampin' Up! annual catalog goes live on June 4th.  It is such a beautiful stamp set with coordinating dies, designer series paper, ribbon, embossing folder and so much more!  

I saw this card online, but it wasn't watermarked, so I don't know who created it.  Isn't it beautiful?  I love to color, so this card caught my eye right away.  I used the Petal Pink - light and dark and light Mossy Meadow blends.  

I tried to color the magnolias to match the designer series paper.  I have to say, they turned out better than I thought they would.  I just love the blends markers.

Petal Pink

• cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper

• cut at 2" x 5 1/2"

After I stamped the Thanks sentiment, I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut it out.  To give the Petal Pink cardstock texture, I embossed it with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  I also used the new 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon to wrap around the cardstock. 

To adhere the sentiment I used Stampin Dimensionals to give it a little bit of lift off of the layer below it.  

Most of the products that I used on this card will not be available for purchase until June 4th when the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! annual catalog goes live. 

I was in Michigan for a few days visiting my mom and family.  It was nice the day I got there and then it got cold and rained.  It never fails whenever I go up there the weather turns cold.  Grrrr

Lovely As A Tree Facebook Live

Every Monday night at 7:00pm I have a Facebook Live on my Stampin Scrapper Facebook page.  Since Stampin' Up! was having a day of celebrating Lovely As A Tree, I thought I should celebrate it too!  But, how was I going to celebrate it? 

One way was to share with you on my blog post on Monday my favorite Lovely As A Tree and Rooted In Nature stamp sets.  Another way was creating a fun project to demonstrate on my Facebook Live.  

As my husband, Mr. Wonderful, and I were driving home on Sunday, I noticed how pretty the trees looked against the sky.  That got my creative juices flowing on how to take that look and make it into a card.  My next step was to search Pinterest for ideas on how to do a sky background and what time of day I wanted to do.  After looking at a lot of different cards, I knew I wanted to do a sunset.  

I really like how it turned out.  I also knew I wanted to use one of the stamp sets that I hadn't used in a very long time.  As I was looking through my stamp sets, I found the Calligraphy Essentials stamp set.  It had some cobwebs on it, (not really) so it was time to brush it off and use it.  I think the sentiment is perfect for this card.  What a better way to watch the sunset and thank God for your day.

Sliding Pop Up Card

I have a very special woman in my life that I love more than life itself.  She is my best friend, my confident, my cheerleader, my rock, she is my mom.  On Saturday she turned 86 years old, which is a miracle.  The doctors told my grandma that when she was born she wouldn't live pass 3 days.  My mom was born a blue baby (I don't think they use that term anymore).  She has had health issues all of her life, so it is truly a miracle that we still have her here with us.  My mom's birthday was on Saturday and I wanted to make her a special card. 

I wanted something different, but what?  The first place I go for ideas is Pinterest.  As I was looking around, I found directions on how to make a sliding pop up card.  I was so excited!  It was different and it was so easy, which I didn't expect.  I thought this was going to be so time consuming, but it wasn't.  The only part that was a little time consuming is the coloring of the rose.  I enjoy coloring, so it didn't bother me.  

You can see a little better in this picture the details on this card.  

Here is a close up of the roses that I stamped with So Saffron ink and colored with the Daffodil Delight, light and dark, Stampin' Blends.   I stamped and colored two roses, but only cut out one of them.  For all of the stamping I used the  April 2019 Paper Pumpkin stamp set.   The stamps and projects have been so beautiful lately in the Paper Pumpkin kits.  See more about Paper Pumpkin at the end of this post.  

The amazing thing about this card, is you can fold it flat to fit inside a standard size envelope.

Baby Wipe Technique With Flourishing Phrases

I love that I get to play with ink, paper and stamps like I did when I was a kid!  On my Facebook live on Monday night I showed how to make this card using the Baby Wipe technique.  Have you tried that technique before?  It is super easy and really pretty.  No two projects will ever be the same. 

All you need for this technique is 2-4 baby wipes, something to put the baby wipes in (I used one of our Standard Stamp Cases), ink refills of your color choice and stamps.  You can do this technique on any type of paper, I did mine on the Glossy White Paper.

Animal Outing Baby Card

I haven't made a baby card in a while, so when I needed one I was so excited!  I made this card using the Animal Outing stamp set and coordinating Animal Friends Thinlits.  You can get both of these as a bundle and save 10%!  

I had a really crazy day the day I made this card and coloring relaxes me.  So, I grabbed my blends and started coloring.  These two, or should I say three, little guys are so cute!  It was fun to bring them to life with color.  On the koala bear and giraffe I used the light and dark Smoky Slate blends.  Also on the giraffe I used the the light and dark Daffodil Delight and dark Soft Suede.  For the kangaroo I used the light and dark of the Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.

I fussy cut these out because I totally forgot I had the thinlits for them.  Grrrr.  I used the sentiment from the same stamp set, Animal Outing.  I added the leaf ribbon, which is out of this world!  I do have a tip for you on how to adhere it to your projects.  Put a glue dot on each of the leaves and it will hold it perfectly and you won't see the adhesive. 

Yesterday I had my One Sheet Wonder Class using the Tropical Escape Suite.  We had so much fun!  Here is a picture of the ladies working on their cards.  We had a new lady join us for this class.  It was so nice to meet her and get to know her.

Coffee Cafe Tunnel Card

Have you made a tunnel card before?  I haven't until I made this one!  I love this type of card.  You could decorate it so many different ways.  When I started designing this card I wanted to use products from the annual catalog.  Lately, I have been doing a lot of projects with products from the occasions and Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Now, don't get me wrong, I love the the occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure, but I miss the products in the annual catalog.  So, today I am sharing a card I made using the Coffee Cafe stamp set along with the coordinating Coffee Cups framelits.  The beautiful designer series paper is from the Garden Impressions paper pack.  

Doesn't the designer series paper just pop out against the Night of Navy cardstock?  Here is a top view of the card, so you can see why it is called a tunnel card.

Block Fill Technique using Lasting Lily

Last night I did a Facebook live on how to do the Block Fill Technique.  When I first saw a card like this on Facebook, created by Felicity Fernandez, I thought it was stunning.  At first I couldn't figure out how she made it.  It looked difficult.  Then I went looking to see how it was done and oh my goodness!  It is not difficult at all!   

I love making projects that look like they are hard or time consuming and really they are easy.  Then, I love teaching people how to create the project for themselves.

Young Boy Birthday Card using Geared Up Garage

Any young boy would be happy to get this card for their birthday.  I made this card for my great nephew, who's birthday is next week.  All week you have seen me use the Geared Up Garage stamp set in different ways.  For this card, I used the stamp set again, however, I added another stamp set, Perennial Birthday, for the sentiment.  

Did you notice the paper under the card?  It is a sheet from the Classic Garage 6" x 6" designer series paper!  Did you also notice the gears on the card are the same ones on the paper?  How cool is that!  Yesterday on my Stampin Scrapper Facebook page, I shared a tip on how to cut out the images on the paper.  If you didn't see it on my page, here it is.  

How cool is that!!!  You can get three big group of gears out of every sheet and then you have all the little ones that you can use for other projects.  I added one of the small group of three gears to the top right section.  I thought it looked bare there, so I added more gears.  We are making this card for my Stamp A Stack on Sunday.  I am hoping to have it on Sunday.  I was suppose to have my class last weekend, but we got a foot of snow.  Now, they are saying we could get 5-8 inches of snow this weekend.  If I can't have my class this weekend, then we will try again next weekend!  LOL

For the sentiment I first stamped the background image with a stamp from the Geared Up Garage stamp set.  I used the Gray Granite ink and stamped my image off on a scrap piece of paper first, before I stamped it on the Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment with Black Memento ink.  On the inside of the card and on my envelope I stamped the image you see in the picture above.  I, then popped the Real Red circle using Stampin Dimensionals and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the gears.

Crushed Curry

• cut at 4 1/4" x 11" score at 5 1/2"

Basic Black

• cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

Real Red

• a piece of scrap paper for a 2" circle

Whisper White

• a piece of scrap paper for the 1 3/4" circle
• cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

While I was editing my photos yesterday, I decided to play a little bit.  I have never done a picture in a shape other than a square or rectangle.  This time I decided to try a circle.    I have to say, I like it.

In this picture I love how bright the colors are.  This card is such a bright and cheery card, that you really could use it for anyone's birthday.   

I sure hope my great nephew likes his birthday card!

Life Is Grand

When I was looking through the new occasions catalog I was drawn to the Life is Grand stamp set.  There are times that I want a big sentiment so I can make that the focus of my card, and this stamp set is exactly that.  Big sentiments.  My favorite designer series paper in the whole occasions catalog is the Floral Romance pack.  There are two double sided designs and two single sided designs that are on vellum.  I have to say the vellum design I used on this card is my favorite.  It is so beautiful!

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

Petal Pink

• cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4"

Fresh Fig

• cut at 1 1/2" x 4 1/4"
• cut at 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"

Whisper White

• cut at 1 1/4" x 4 1/4"
• cut at 2 1/2" x 3"
• cut at 4" x 5 1/4"

When I went to attach the vellum to the Fresh Fig piece of cardstock, I really didn't like how the design on the vellum looked muted.   How could I make the design come through, so you can see how pretty this paper is?  I saw the vellum laying on my white craft table and realized that I needed to put a piece of white paper behind it.  I cut it the same size as the vellum so you can't see it.  I then attached it to the Fresh Fig piece of cardstock.  

The sentiment is popped with Stampin Dimensionals and then to finish off the card I put one of the flowers from the Frosted Flower Embellishments.  

This card is a simple card that uses a stamp, ink and paper.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

Tomorrow is my customer appreciation event.  I am so excited!  I can't wait to spoil them.  I have been having so much fun creating projects for them and gifts.  I will have more details next week for you.  I am also going to have an exciting Sunday!
