Gift Bags Made With Designer Series Paper

I love to give gifts especially when I make the gift bags and cards for them to go in.  On Monday night I showed how to make these two bags using designer series paper.  I did not come up with these on my own.  Ronda Wade was so kind to share how she made them on YouTube. 

These gift bags are fast and easy and a great way to use your designer series paper.  Stampin' Up! has some of the most beautiful designer series paper that I have seen.  Are you a designer paper hoarder like me?  I have been trying to use it more and more lately.  

To make this gift bag, you are going to start out with two pieces of any 12" x 12" designer series paper.  On the above bag I used Stampin' Up! Magnolia Lane designer series paper.

The measurements are below:

1st 12" x 12" designer series paper

• score at 3" and 9"
• on other side score at 1" (this will be the top of your bag) and 9" (this will be the bottom of your bag)

2nd 12" x 12" designer series paper

• cut 4" off one of the sides (make sure it is on the side of your bag, not top or bottom)
• on 8" side score at 1" and 7"
• on 12" side score at 1" (top of bag) and 9" (bottom of bag)

To make this gift bag you are going to start with two pieces of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock.  On the above bag I used Mossy Meadow with Magnolia Lane designer series paper.  

On both pieces of cardstock:

• on 8 1/2" side score at 1 1/2" and 7"
• on 11" side score at 2 3/4" (this will be the bottom)

Designer Series Paper

• cut 2 at 2 1/2" x 8"
• cut 2 at 5 1/4" x 8"

You can use the 4" piece that you cut off to make a card with it.  I will have directions and measurements for the card on Friday along with information about my Holiday catalog paper share.

There are so many possibilities with all the beautiful designer series paper in the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I just got my preorder from the new 2019 holiday catalog and oh my goodness, the designer series paper is so beautiful.  I keep thinking about all the different gift bags I could make with it.

Daisy Lane Ghirardelli Treat Holder

At all of my classes I always make a thank you gift for the attendees.  When I was working on my projects for my Daisy Lane class on Friday night I started thinking about what thank you gift to make.  I remembered I had a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates, so I knew I wanted to use them.  I started playing with products that I had on my craft table and came up with this cute treat holder. 

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock:

I used 2019-2021 In Colors

• cut at 3" x 8 1/4" score at 4" and 4 1/4"
• cut at 2" x 4" for the flowers
• cut at at 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" for the handles

Whisper White

• cut 2 at 2" x 4" for the flowers

2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper

• cut at 3" x 4"

These treat holders are perfect when you need to make multiples.  You can make 3 of these out of one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock.  

When I finished my Facebook live I got the cutest picture from one of my team members, Brittany.  

This is a picture of her daughter watching my video.  Brittany said she loves watching my videos.  I love it!  This picture definitely warms my heart!  She is so stinkin' cute!

Last weekend I was able to set up my new Storage by Stampin' Up!  I had no idea I would love it so much!  I kept changing it around until I got it just the way I wanted it.  That is one of many things I love about these modules.  You can arrange them in so many different configurations.

June 2019 Paper Pumpkin

The June's Paper Pumpkin had these adorable little note cards that came with a pouch for you to store them in.  They are the perfect size to have in your purse when you need a little note to thank someone, for encouragement or to help cheer someone up.  I was so excited when I heard about the little cards, because I always have little cards in my purse to hand out to people.  These will be perfect for the summer.  The above picture are the alternative projects I made with the Paper Pumpkin kit on my Facebook Live on Monday night.

The cards above are made the way the kit was designed.  In the center is the adorable pouch to store the cards in.  The pouch  will prevent your cards from getting damaged or ruined.  

I had a lot of fun making these and had so many supplies left over that I could make all of these again and still not use up all of the supplies.  I love that!  I did a Facebook Live on Monday to show how to create all of the projects.  I will let you know that it is long.

Ferrero Rocher Treat Holder

 

On my Facebook live on Monday night I shared how to make these cute Ferrero Rocher treat holders.   I made these for my attendees at my class last week.  They loved them!

At my monthly card class I always feature one stamp set and demonstrate how to use it in different ways.  This month it was the Sail Away stamp set, which I also used to make my treat holder.  The designer series paper is also from the Come Sail Away suite in the annual catalog.  

To make this card you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Designer Series Paper:

• cut at 3" x 5"
• on 3" side score at 3/4"  and 2 1/4"
• on 5" side score at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4", 3", 3 3/4" and 4 1/2"
• cut at 1/2" x 2 1/2" for the handle

Cardstock

• scrap piece for 2 - 1 1/4" circles

For the treat holder I made on my video I used cardstock for the handle, but on the first one I made I used designer series paper.

Easy Treat Holders

At all of my classes I always make a little treat holder for the attendees.  It is my thank you gift to them for coming to my class.  I made the two standing up for a class last month and the one in the middle I have made multiple times.  The tall treat holders open from smallest end of the box and the middle one opens from the long side.

Lovely As A Tree Facebook Live

Every Monday night at 7:00pm I have a Facebook Live on my Stampin Scrapper Facebook page.  Since Stampin' Up! was having a day of celebrating Lovely As A Tree, I thought I should celebrate it too!  But, how was I going to celebrate it? 

One way was to share with you on my blog post on Monday my favorite Lovely As A Tree and Rooted In Nature stamp sets.  Another way was creating a fun project to demonstrate on my Facebook Live.  

As my husband, Mr. Wonderful, and I were driving home on Sunday, I noticed how pretty the trees looked against the sky.  That got my creative juices flowing on how to take that look and make it into a card.  My next step was to search Pinterest for ideas on how to do a sky background and what time of day I wanted to do.  After looking at a lot of different cards, I knew I wanted to do a sunset.  

I really like how it turned out.  I also knew I wanted to use one of the stamp sets that I hadn't used in a very long time.  As I was looking through my stamp sets, I found the Calligraphy Essentials stamp set.  It had some cobwebs on it, (not really) so it was time to brush it off and use it.  I think the sentiment is perfect for this card.  What a better way to watch the sunset and thank God for your day.

Sliding Pop Up Card

I have a very special woman in my life that I love more than life itself.  She is my best friend, my confident, my cheerleader, my rock, she is my mom.  On Saturday she turned 86 years old, which is a miracle.  The doctors told my grandma that when she was born she wouldn't live pass 3 days.  My mom was born a blue baby (I don't think they use that term anymore).  She has had health issues all of her life, so it is truly a miracle that we still have her here with us.  My mom's birthday was on Saturday and I wanted to make her a special card. 

I wanted something different, but what?  The first place I go for ideas is Pinterest.  As I was looking around, I found directions on how to make a sliding pop up card.  I was so excited!  It was different and it was so easy, which I didn't expect.  I thought this was going to be so time consuming, but it wasn't.  The only part that was a little time consuming is the coloring of the rose.  I enjoy coloring, so it didn't bother me.  

You can see a little better in this picture the details on this card.  

Here is a close up of the roses that I stamped with So Saffron ink and colored with the Daffodil Delight, light and dark, Stampin' Blends.   I stamped and colored two roses, but only cut out one of them.  For all of the stamping I used the  April 2019 Paper Pumpkin stamp set.   The stamps and projects have been so beautiful lately in the Paper Pumpkin kits.  See more about Paper Pumpkin at the end of this post.  

The amazing thing about this card, is you can fold it flat to fit inside a standard size envelope.

Easter Treat Holders

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way!!!  How cute are these Easter treat holders!  On Monday night on my Facebook Live on my Stampin Scrapper page I showed how to make all three of the treat holders.  They are fast and easy!  Who wouldn't love to get one of them in their basket on Easter morning.

The first project I made was the Ghirardelli treat holder.  The measurements for this project are:

Cardstock:

Berry Burst/Pacific Point

• cut at 2" x 7" and score at 3 1/2", 4", 5 3/4" on the 7" side

The second project was this cute little bag with topper for the Bugs and Bees Lindt chocolate.  Aren't they the cutest bugs and bees you have ever seen! The measurements for this project are:

The third and final project is my favorite.  I absolutely love how this box turned out.  One of my favorite things to do is take an object and figure out how to make a box for it.  Here are the measurements for this project:

Lindt Lamb and Chick Treat Holders

At Easter time, the Lindt Lamb and Chicks are my favorite candy.  I love the taste of the chocolate, but I think I might love the wrapping on them more.  LOL  They are so cute!  Wait a minute, it's chocolate, of course, I love that more!

Last night on my Facebook live I showed how to make these.  They are so easy and fun to make.  

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Flirty Flamingo/Granny Apple Green

• cut at 4 1/4" x 7" 
• on 4 1/4" side score at 1"
• on 7" side score at 2 1/4", 3 1/4", 5 1/2", 6 1/2"

Petal Pink

• scrap for flowers

Whisper White 

• scrap for sentiment

In the video I said that I was using the Petal Pink cardstock for the flowers, however, that is incorrect.  I used the Powder Pink cardstock.

Tissue Box Holder Using Painted Seasons

I have been fighting a cold this last week and as I was sitting in my recliner thinking about what to make for my Facebook Live this week I saw my tissue box holder.  I have been wanting to make a new one for a while and just haven't taken the time to do it.  Now, was the perfect time!  I knew I wanted to do a butterfly one for my stampin studio and have been also wanting to do one for Christmas.  So, I made both!

I made my butterfly one first using the Botanical Butterfly designer series paper in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I hadn't made one in a long time, so I needed to figure out how to make it again.  The above picture is taken at an angle so you can see how I did the top of it.  

The above tissue box holder is the one that I made on my Facebook Live on Monday night.  I will be saving this one for Christmas time.  

To make this project you will need the following paper.  For a complete list of all the products I used, please see the end of this post.

Cardstock: (This is for the above picture)

Early Espresso

• cut 2 at 9 1/2" x 10" score on 9 1/2" side at 5 1/4" and score on the 10" side at 4 1/2" and 9"
• cut at 6 5/8" x 6 5/8" this is for the top - score at 1" on all sides
• cut at 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" for the top
• cut 2 at 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" for the bottom and inside of box

Whisper White

• cut at 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper

• cut 4 at 4 1/4" x 5"
